Nestled within the vibrant seaside village of Oistins, Barbados, Surfer's Cafe is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. My experience at this charming eatery was nothing short of extraordinary, blending the laid-back atmosphere of a beachside cafe with the tantalizing flavors of Caribbean cuisine.
As I stepped onto the sun-drenched terrace overlooking the azure waters of the Atlantic Ocean, I was immediately struck by the sense of serenity that enveloped the space. The rhythmic sound of crashing waves provided the perfect soundtrack to my dining experience, setting the stage for a memorable meal. The menu at Surfer's Cafe is a celebration of fresh, locally sourced ingredients and inventive culinary creations. From mouthwatering seafood dishes to flavorful vegetarian options, there's something to please every palate. I opted for the catch of the day, a succulent grilled fish served with a side of coconut-infused rice and tangy mango salsa. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, perfectly complemented by the gentle sea breeze and stunning ocean views.

Read moreThis is one of if not my favourite place in Barbados. There is absolutely nothing to fault in this establishment. From the lovely kind staff that welcome you (Marcie ) and attend to you, the lovely Joy who is the embodiment of her name Joyful in every way..Surfer Cafe oozes ambient atmosphere that borders on chic cool relaxation at all times. Ok so on to the food. Breakfast 10/10 and now lunch 10/10. The name of the Chef is Carl. He is Carlicios. He is Carlington. Please just call him King Carl👑. Don't play with this guy. I beg. If you are a foodie like me and I have sacrificed to have that title (I'm always praying to God for divine liposuction) when you know you know. We had Benny Benny for breakfast and a few days later we have returned for lunch and have just started with fishcakes. And they are perfect. None of that gloggy heavy undercooked doughy rubbish. This is fresh tasty thoroughly flavoured light crispy deliciousness in two or three crispy bites. I could go on but my mains have just arrived. Shrimp wrap and Hubbies Howlie burger. It's all banging I'll post some pics. If you are in Barbados and you like life come...
Read moreBarbados Wouldn’t be complete without a really nice Caribbean breakfast so we decided to take a flip-flop down to surfers café close to the beach.
Welcomed with big smiles all round. Me my lady and my baby sat down and enjoyed a beautiful array of avocado on toast with a touch of chilli oil and garlic sprinkled with Chia seeds and rocket. Followed by a wonderfully prepared fresh fruit salad complete with blueberries strawberries grapes and apple. We also had coffee and fresh fruit juice which had a mix of oranges and grapefruit which we loved.
Although our breakfast was fantastic and the service was impeccable from friendly outgoing Barbados locals, there were no baby changing facilities available.
Despite this, there was such a lovely cool breeze blowing in from the sea we were able to change your baby just by the doorway on the comfy seat inside our booth.
From the soft soothing sounds of waves mixed with reggae vibes this breakfast was on another level. Surfers café is definitely on the must do hit list for mummies and daddies...
