Really amazed at how efficient and professional the barista is! Not only did she have to take orders, she also had to make the drinks and clear the tables outside when customers don't clean up after themselves. I noticed that from time to time, she would make small talk with the dine-in customers, or recommend beans when they are making payment. Gotta give her props for doing all that and more single-handedly as I often see her manning the stand alone whenever I visit this outlet.
The same can be said for the dyed hair barista who is on shift when I'm there. This guy may seem aloof but he is just as fast in taking and fulfilling orders. Thank you for always getting my coffee right!
I tried the lemonade espresso and received it within 5 minutes of ordering. It was so refreshing in this heat! Love the balance of sweetness and sour acidity from the new coffee beans they are offering now (or maybe it's the lemon. I asked for more and got it! Heh). The same female barista was so attentive to offer me another straw when she saw that mine had sort of 'bent over' because I was too engrossed in reading my storybook.
The milk-based coffee was creamy yet didn't leave a heavy aftertaste. You pay for quality, and can definitely tell the difference from those sugar/syrup-laden ones you get at other mass market coffee joints. I appreciate that they come in takeaway cups too for the convenience.
Will recommend BAC Sentosa!

Read moreI ordered a matcha latte hot. And lemme just say. It was the worst matcha latte I’ve ever tasted in my life. Tastes like battery acid and I can’t even begin to describe how awful it tasted. It was the definition of catfish. What was deceiving was that the colour of the matcha was not bad, a light green colour that almost looked like the ceremonial grade matcha powder ones. Thus, I was hopeful. To my dismay, it was an unforgivable misstep. The flavour profile was disturbingly reminiscent of stale grass clippings steeped in vinegar that have been stepped on 10 times and mixed with algae from Florida water streams. You really just need to try it for yourself if you want to understand how bad it was cos it didn’t even taste like a matcha or milk or sugar at all. Idk how the worker messed it up but it really had a taste that was not suppose to be in matcha, coffee, or any cafe drink for that matter, that lingered unpleasantly in my mouth. And as the Cranberries said, “do u have to let it linger”. It wasn’t just a bad matcha, but a disservice to cafe culture. Baristart ? More like Baristop making matcha lattes. Will not be...
Read moreDear owner of Baristart Coffee, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for your incredible kindness this evening (29 March 2024). Despite your shop being closed, you went above and beyond to offer me a cup of hot water to cook my cup noodle when I found myself without any other options. Your generosity and warmth touched my heart in a way I can't fully express.
It's moments like these that remind me of the goodness and compassion that exist in the world, and you exemplify that in the most beautiful way. Your act of kindness not only warmed my belly but also my soul, and I am truly thankful for your thoughtfulness.
Though I didn't have the chance to sample your shop's offerings that evening, I have no doubt that they are as wonderful as the person behind them. Please know that your gesture will not be forgotten, and I will always cherish the memory of your kindness.
Thank you once again for your generosity and for brightening my day with your warmth. Wishing you continued success and blessings in all...
