Royal Oak Pub — Restaurant in Minsk

I’ve visited Royal Oak Pub more than 20 times during last three years (due to location). Nice interior and lovely atmosphere are among top 10 Minsk pubs (with nice terrace during summer as well). Having an opportunity to try range of dishes, it is hard to recommend anything. During last year food it is below average for similar local venues. They can “teach you” what category is “well done” and explain that you got what you’ve ordered. Last two times I’ve ordered a burger, and it was hard to define it as "eatable". With range of beer available, quality is arguable, and it is recommended to have a draft (very nice from their own production) or some commonly used (in order to get fresh one). Service is poor and below local standard (being almost rude occasionally). Food - 3/5 Beer - 2/5 (coffee 4/5) Service - 2/5 Overall Score 3/5 is based on my average experience, and considering last year alone is 2/5.

In order to have a bear (or two) with some friends and especially if you want to watch Champions League matches with a company, this is probably one of the best places in Minsk, however do not expect too much. As a seasoned Londoner I wholeheartedly hate this place. It tries extremely hard to resemble a traditional British pub, but fails rather miserably. In my humble opinion, that is.

I dislike the service. I dislike the menu. I don't understand why they don't take money at the counter. Like, come on, this is a pub, right? I want to buy a bloody round for the lads, we do not need a bill at the end of the night when everyone has more important business to mind.

But most of all I dislike it when my local friends bring me here to show me that there's a "real British pub in Minsk". Seriously? Will you look for a traditional Belarusian place in London if you come...

This place was a recommendation from a friend who used to live in the area for many years.

I went there with my girlfriend but to our dismay the dishes were served separately and I had to wait while my steak was getting cold until my girlfriend received her dish many minutes later.

The steak was also not Medium as I had requested, it was well done, and the Honey soy chicken wings were overdone and did not seem fresh or juicy.

When asked at the end of the meal if everything was to our satisfaction we clarified that no, and our drinks were offered to us free of charge.
