Complètement Toqué — Restaurant in Bastogne

Visited this restaurant a short while after a rain shower and their terrace seating was still wet. However, seeing other restaurants around them had reopened their terraces, we asked if a table outside could be prepared. The answer was a gruff no. We should have left then but allowed ourselves to be escorted to an inside table in a stuffy room on the second floor. We asked if some windows could be opened. The waiter murmured ‘only a little’ and cracked open a window. As soon as the drinks arrived, we were asked if we had made our dinner choice. We had time to spare and told the waiter that we would order later, maybe after a couple more drinks. A few minutes later, a nasty and presumably the head waiter arrived and asked what our problem was!! You cannot expect to enter a ‘starred’ restaurant and expect to only have drinks, he thundered. A ‘starred’ restaurant? Like a Michelin star? Not in anyone’s dreams! Just a local food joint with an attitude problem. We paid for our drinks and left...

Complètement toqué .... c'est apparemment le nom du patron !!! Quel dommage !!! Nous avions apprecié le cadre, le repas ainsi que le service. Le seul point négatif était un manque de cuisson du jambonneau à la béarnaise. Au moment où nous avons reglé l'addition, nous l'avons gentillement signalé au patron .... C'est là que nous avons compris le nom du restaurant !!! Ce messieur qui se prétend commerçant nous a agressé verbalement d'une façon absolument honteuse !!! Et nous révèle au passage que le jambonneau ne peut pas être "pas assez cuit car il arrive pré-cuit sous vide" (pour information monsieur le soit disant restaurateur, la cuisson d'un jambonneau pré-cuit doit se terminer au bain marie jusqu'à ce que la viande soit fondante ... la votre avait visiblement raté cette étape de la préparation car impossible de la détacher de l'os !!!!) et qu'il ne l'a pas vu.... il finit par nous dire de sortir et qu'il a pas besoin de clients comme nous .... Tant mieux pour vous monsieur, car nous ne risquons plus de dépenser notre argent chez vous !!!! Il termine par un "Sortez avant que je m'énerve. Allez mangez chez Léon" ... pourquoi chez Léon ?? Mystère !! Mais peut-tre qu'eux traitent correctement la clientème qui les fait vivre ?!?! Au plaisir de ne jamais vous revoir !!! Desolé pour son personnel qui lui était...

Very disappointing as we tried to eat here as I had seen the Côte de boeuf de la Ferme du Puit but when the 4 of us tried to get a table we were told we would need to go upstairs which was not possible with my baby grandson in a pushchair. There were plenty of tables downstairs but these were not offered so we left feeling very unwelcome. We had an excellent meal just across the square, we wouldn’t bother...
