We planned to go here after visiting the Bastogne War Museum. Called in on short notice before leaving the museum to ask if they'd have space for 10 people. We got told they'd close soon after our call. We walked by on our way to and back from the place we ended up eating and they were still open at least two hours later with plenty of space but some customers at the tables. Whatever the reason for denying our request was, it doesn't look like we got told the truth on the phone which I really don't appreciate.
Edit in response to the owner's reply: We were told they were closing at 19.00, not enough time for us to get there and eat. We weren't told that there isn't enough space due to too many reservations - which would've been completely fine, it was on short notice after all. When we arrived at the parking lot right in front of the place (we ended up eating at a restaurant a few houses over), we could see that a few tables were occupied but most were empty. When we got back to the cars way past 19.00, the restaurant was still open, there were still a few tables occupied, but most empty. So for the statement that there is no space due to reservations to be true, all the other tables had to have their guests arrive after us and leave before we got back to our cars, which doesn't seem all that plausible. Even if that is what happened though, reservations and a lack of space was never the reason we were told when calling in, so the reply is already giving a different reason. I don't get why, just telling us that there are too many reservations for us to come in or that they don't take reservations for groups of that size seems like a simple thing that guests can get behind. Alas, we got told another reason that, from our simple observations, seems to...
Read moreThe burgers were so bad that it was not edible. Me and my wife ordered a burger each. Both were very bad. I complained to the waitress to please take 1 burger out of the check because it was very dry, lacked flavour, and it was a complete mess. Could barely eat half. I was willing to pay for the other burger that we weren't going to eat either. She told me to talk to her boss. I told the boss my issue and he became very defensive and tried to justify the dryness by saying it was lean beef and if I ordered well done then that's what I get. Firstly, I didn't ordered any doneness preference because I wasn't asked by the waitress, second I am a cook myself, I work in the kitchen, and I've been around and tried plenty of burgers. These people just don't know how to make burgers and worse they want to charge €23 for a mediocre burger, and on top of that provide a pathetic customer service. The boss finally took the plates and told me to pay for the drinks, which of course I was going to since they didn't make it. No apology, no offer to make it right, nothing. This guy is pathetic. They just slap all the toppings on the burgers and make it look big and good and think it'll hide the mediocre burger that's under all that mess and charge €23 for it. Can't speak for the other items on the menu, but do not...
