Mac SQUARE — Restaurant in Bastogne

We had a pretty poor experience here. We were tempted to eat here due to relatively high rating on google. Staff was uninterested and especially not attentive to the fact we have a 2 year old not being able to eat from a normal chair. It appeared they had high chairs after all. The food was terrible. Pasta with shrimps literally drowned in sauce, ruining the dish, so we left nearly all on the plate (the waiter did not even ask why we left a full plate..). I was looking forward to mussels in white wine, but it disappointed. The mussels tasted bland, were poorly cleaned and worst, bad texture i.e. most tough to chew, some mushy (quality?). I have never left mussels in the pan,...

First of all, food was really good. But, after we ate we asked the waiter for the check and he just went on cleaning other tables. After 20 minutes of waiting we went to the back ourselves to go and pay.

If you are a Belgian and you only have a Bancontact card, you can not use this to pay because they only take Mastercard/Creditcards... Luckily, one of us had a Mastercard with him...

Also everyone that works here speaks French, nothing else, not even English...

Conclusion: The food was really good and price was not that expensive but if you don't speak French as a normal tourist, this is not the best...

Very nice atmosphere, it was nice to see so many people greeted warmly by the employees. I assume they were return customers.

We had a pizza orientale which was perfect, exactly what I was looking for in a pizza. We also ordered a mixed grill, which had very juicy chicken meat.

I would recommend this restaurant and would return here if I found myself in the area...
