Finding the hotel was easy on the hill facing the main town. Parking is around 50m past the hotel and secure.||||The lobby and lounge area is decorated in a very friendly and cosy manner, with plenty of space and lots of very comfy looking chairs and sofas.||||Checkin was very fast and efficient and we got to our room on the first floor quickly. The room was spacious, with a 'continental' double bed (2 beds pushed together), separate bathroom and toilet and lovely balcony with a view of the opposite castle.||||The room is a little worn but very clean and comfortable.||||The only minor issues we had were the bathroom shower is in the bath and is positioned low on the wall, better for rinsing in the bath than showering. The TV does not have any English channels but the Wifi is good and supports streaming.||||The restaurant downstairs is great and we enjoyed a very tasty dinner (venison and chicken). We had a very small issue persuading the restaurant to break their policy of 'both or neither' for the set dinner, as I wanted it but my wife just wanted a main. Service was very friendly and helpful.||||Breakfast was a fairly traditional set-up and buffet menu. One interesting element is diners are expected to cook their own eggs and bacon. Something we enjoyed a lot but some might not. Unfortunately, the only coffee available was the automatic machine type. Not very good at all.||||Overall a good visit to a...

Read moreI had a wonderful time here. While not the most modern hotel, where others say it can be improved, that did not bother me at all. Our 2 days with breakfast and dinner were splendid. The view over Bouillon is great (see picture, although it was a bit cloudy that day) with the hotel on the opposite of the castle on the mountain side. You can easily get to the city center by taking small stairs between houses. Or by road for less mobile persons.
The 4 dish menu was really a pleasant surprise, we thanked the cook/owner every day for serving such deliciousness. The wine selection you can get there is also good. And of course beer, it's is Belgium after all.
The breakfast is nice, you can make your own eggs, boiled or baked with bacon. Your own pancakes. There is all kind of cereals, fruit and bread and so on. Everything you'd expect from a hotel breakfast.
Special thanks to the owners Phillipe and Nathalie for the great reception and warm welcome we had in the evening.
Next time I take a hotel in the Bouillon area I would definitely go there again. Good base to do walks in the area. There are numerous trails in the surroundings...
