Brasserie Den Baron — Restaurant in Brecht

Nice café by the side of the road albeith the enterance is at the side/rear and not accessable from the front/street. Service was freindly and helpful if a little slow. Lots of languages spoken. Not so busy to account for the slow service. Food was very nice. Salad was over vinigared and the fries lacked flavour/seasoning. Coffee was excellent as was the fresh mint tea - which took an exceptional time to arrive/be made by the waiting staff. I would eat...

After months of corona lockdown, we wanted to try something new since a very long time. De Baron is really a great place for friends and family. There is a large terrace with beach umbrellas 😎, aside from a playground for kids. There is enough space between the tables for both corona and the silence. The food was just amazing, I took the spareribs, which come with a honey sauce (see 📸). The chilli con carne and steak are also highly recommend! 6 out of 5...

Augustus 2024 was Burata kwaliteit en presentatie goed evenals de ambiance. Was aan de prijs, maar paste nog net. Afgelopen zaterdag: Binnenkomst prima vriendelijke ontvangst. Tafeltje buiten op terras. 4 tafeltjes bezet. Na opnemen aperitief contact erg traag. Nu vol verwachting weer Burata tomaat salade besteld en pasta vongole. Bediening veel heen en weer lopen, te vaak met lege handen. Brood in het voorbijlopen op tafel gedropt. Olie die elders wel op tafel. Hier niet gebracht. Zelf maar van andere tafel gehaald. Daarna 3 keer om wijnkaart gevraagd, en komt dan eindelijk. Geserveerde Burata/tomaten kwaliteit matig supermarkt achtig. Tomaten voldoende. Het geheel en presentatie is echter absoluut geen 26 euro waard!. Supplement frieten in mandje zo kaal op tafel. (Laat je zelf dit als klant eens serveren). Pasta Vongole was goed gevuld en pasta heeft goede bite. Lepel: geen. Niet bedacht/vergeten. Bediening was behalve vriendelijk ver van professioneel of kreeg het vandaag niet onder de knie. Bij afruimen ook nog even met vette mes mijn T-shirt raken, met vetvlek als gevolg, en ja hoor , “heb ik dat gedaan”? Het zal allemaal wel goed bedoeld zijn maar resultaat is absoluut niet in overeenstemming met de prijs. Dit was dan ook de laatste keer. Ps suggestie: Zet loungemuziek wat zachter op het terras. Te veel aanwezig. Zit naar mijn idee niemand op te wachten...
