Solbrun — Restaurant in Dinant

Very disappointing. We visited this morning for coffee and something to eat. First of all we asked the waitress if we can sit and her answer was when there were at least 2 empty tables right in front of her. Besides that, there weren't any menus in English only in French and she didn't bother to help us understand what was written on the menus. Also, our food order was mixed up and ended at another table and after half and hour we told them that we see that our food is not here yet and because we had to leave if we can take it to go. We took it to go but because we had to take a bus obviously we weren't able to eat it for at least 2 hours . Not all the staff was rude they were actually very polite besides the waitress. Not our first visit - the food here is delicious and wholesome (very nice quiches with a properly made salad, not just a slice of cucumber and two baby tomatoes). The view of the River Meuse is really lovely.

The reason for only two stars is that the service is really terrible, and it’s been this way at every one of our visit over the years, but the last one this week made us think we probably won’t come here again. Rude, disagreeable staff, very slow service. Our surly young waitress was so spectacularly rude to the elderly couple next to us that, visibly shocked, they got up and left.

I really hope that the management will understand it needs to train its staff better as that’s the one thing that could improve this place and make...

I ate there last year around the same time of the year and was pleasantly surprised by the ice cream that was very tasty, especially the caramel one. It seems overly complicated these days to find ice cream with proper taste. However, they changed provider, for the worst, as the ice cream has as much taste as sheer ice. If I had more balls I would have sent it back and not even paid for that joke. But my balls were unfortunately nowhere to be found, similar to the caramel flavour on my taste buds. Even the waiter admitted that it was not as good as before; and yet they still knowingly serve it. Waffel and all are still good tho; so that's that I guess. But never again, not worth the...
