Gâteau — Restaurant in Etterbeek

This is our favorite boulanger in all of Brussels. We are devotees to the croissants, and rarely a week goes by that we don't eat three or four of their baguettes, both the traditional and the seeded, which are probably the best I've ever had anywhere in Europe. Pain complete and pain campagne are both excellent with a strong sourdough flavor. All their breads are well-hyrdrated and soft, with just a touch of crunch to the crust. prices are a little high compared to others, especially when sold by the kilo, but the quality is superb.

Even before entering you can tell how amazing the profucts are. This bakery and pastry shop is also a fabric, as they ferment and bake the bread in the back.

I bought bread by kilo, which allows no waste, personalisation and always fresh bread. So delicate, nourishing and satisfaying. Hard to find such quality like this nowadays. It was more or less 3.5 euros. You can expect a bit of line in the weekend mornings, but it goes fast. The team is very nice and dynamic.

Really incredible bakery. Great breads: 4 grain, corn, ... and viennoiseries. Snail shaped ones (coque suisse): raspberry and ??, lemon and cardamom, pistachio and chocolate, traditional Suisse. Croissants: some days with almond/frangipane. Brioche: nature, chocolat. It's best to order the day before and pick up your package in the morning so that you avoid the queue. Oh also the round multi-person éclairs for four or six...
