Sushirestaurant | Esaki Sushi — Restaurant in Genk

We went with no expectations and we had a great time. The food was really tasty. We took the titanic option and were presented with a "boatload" of sushi. Lots of variety!!

Now,... for the improvements: 1.due to corono,.. you need to scan a qr code to see the menu. A big menu on a small screen and all kinds of unknown names makes it not practical to make a choice. I write this as a consideration for management to think about. As said .. we order a dish that has a lot of different kinds of sushi... there is no reference... how do I know whattype of sushi I ate ?

Really tasty restaurant. Way superior to most of the sushi restaurants I have tried in Belgium. Starters were carefully made and so tasty. The chicken yakitori, for example, had that umami smokey flavour I had always wished for. You could taste the grilling and brushing of the sauce. Gyozas had some corn in them, along with meat. Very nice addition! The vegetarian sushi combo included interesting combinations of ingredients such as sundried tomatoes and pickled carrots. I tried the tamago sushi and I was most pleased to have it served on a shiso leaf (so good!), plus the sweet and savoury taste felt authentically Japanese. Good choice of alcohol free cocktails. Food The veggie soup is definitely overpriced. 7 euros for what I got… for some reason the chicken noodles soep 9-10 euros but the size is almost twice as much as the veggie one… I don’t understand… Though the taste of soup was good and I was satisfied.

The sushi combo was okay. I would say average good. I have no complains but also no surprise.
