At first we liked the place. The ambience is pleasant and the service was good. The first course, which came with great bread, was a bit an the salty side but quite tasty. However, the two main courses, lamb and fish, were the worst we‘d had in a long time. Pasta and veggies were very heavy on the salt, and the fish was almost raw. I returned it and got it back OK without a word of apology. The lamb had a strong taste of vinegar, absolutely not what lamb should taste like! Plus it was well done. My husband ordered suggested menu (where were no information what is the main dish, just the abstract name) and for the main course we got a bagel with salmon and cream. For a dinner. I guess to serve breakfast dish where a lot of bread for a dinner in the restaurant is not acceptable. Moreover it was not tasty at all! We didn’t eat that bagel and waitress did not even asked if there is a problem with anything. We said it is not tasty and there were no reaction, no complimentary food nor discounts. Zeer aangenaam restaurant. Dineren op niveau. Wij gingen naar het restaurant omwille van de hoge 4.8 score en ja hoor, ze verdienen het! Er staat niet veel op de kaart maar dat is meestal een goed teken. De vlotte ober kwam ons onmiddelijk vertellen dat "le sandre" de verse vis van de dag was. Mijn Frans is vrij behoorlijk maar toch even opzoeken in het Nederlands wat het alweer was. Snoekbaars dus. :-) Ja die lusten we wel. De bereiding was werkelijk subliem. Zeer mooi opgediend. Zeer delicaat van smaak. Geserveerd met een top sausje en een aparte salade. Om de vingers van af te likken. Wij hebben er een Chenin Blanc bij gedronken. Ik weet niet meer van welke streek maar we vonden hem allemaal top! Als nagerecht kozen wij een assortiment van lokale kazen die heerlijk samen met de wijn gingen. Verder een meringue met aardbeien die ook zeer in de smaak viel. Binnen is het landelijk interieur voorzien van een paar mooie schilderijen en wat middeleeuwse attributen die tesamen met een zachte jazzy lounge muziek je helemaal tot rust doen komen.
