We had been here 2 years ago, when the resto was called Nanoo's. This was not the greatest experience then, and it is not good now either. Actually, we got there 2nd time as we did not realise the place merely changed the name! Still the same menu, the same problems - barely competent staff, poor implementation for a half of dishes, poor quality to price ratio. When leaving we have heard other angry client leaving, and they were telling the criticism loudly! The place is the scam, will make sure to avoid it under any other name.
EDIT: once I received an offensive answer from the chef (he called me liar): I decreased my rating from 2 to 1 star. Also, in response to this offense, I warn all the potential visitors to be extra careful - the place is a scam, as I said - and you see this with the behavior of the chef. Also, he is a liar. The proof of it - and I sign by my own name - I have witnesses we went twice to the place (3 and 4 people), I found 3 out of 4 dishes I ordered last time, so the menu is eventually the same, including even mise en bouche (!). I am ready to meet you in court, Alain...
Read moreWas pretty average food. We expected far more when having had a look at the website and menu. I had the "Brunoise au legumes racines au chevre frais" as a starter. It was like simple small chopped and pickeld veggies with a cheese on top that tasted like simple philadelphia cheese. As a main, I chose the "Tronçon de grosse dorade" which was pretty tasteless and the veggies were overcooked. As a dessert, I took the "assortiment de 3 desserts" which was composed of the crème brulée the nougat glacé and the croustillant de banane. The crème bruĺée was too liquid and not as it should be. As for the other two desserts, I can't really compare it to anything I ate before. But certainly it was nothing I would remember. All in all, the service was friendly. They did their best but one could tell that gastronomy was not...
Read moreUpdate: This was a review of Nanoo's, before it was Saisonomy. Haven't been to Saisonomy.
Fantastic. Delicious food and professional service. Starter of ravioli with crab in a creamy buttery sauce was divine. Turbotin for the main course, cooked to perfection. Accompanied with mashed potato, spinach and a shallot sauce. Simple but everything just perfect. And the desert, oh my! A chocolate tart with coffee whipped cream that was a chocolate-lover's heaven. My companion had gaspacho, venison and crème brulée, and was very happy with it all too. We've lived in Waterloo for over 15 years and tried most of the restaurants in Waterloo and the surrounding areas; Nanoo's is by far the best dining experience we've had. Frankly, I don't care if I never go to another restaurant other than Nanoo's....
