Koenie Koenie BBQ Bar — Restaurant in Lier

I ate here with my family from the UK. Unfortunately, there was no English menu, which is normal in small towns like Lier, but the waitress spoke excellent English, explained everything, and answered all our questions.

We were the only ones at the restaurant as we ate at an odd time between lunch and dinner, yet the staff were incredibly friendly and the food was fresh, fast and delicious.

While we were there, a group of 8 people sat down just for drinks, so clearly, when it isn't busy, they welcome people who don't necessarily want to eat, although it is clearly first and foremost a restaurant.

Will definitely be back as portion sizes were great for the prices, and next time really want to try the Flinstone size steak and the whisky...

When we stumbled upon this place we where exited since we both love BBQ (style) food. They did a good job decorating the place to look like an American BBQ joint but the food isn’t quite the same as over there. You would expect that when you order - a universal and common concept as - “Buffalo wings” that you would get Buffalo wings, but sadly this isn’t/wasn’t the case. Instead of the real buffalo hot flavour there’s another kind of condiment on it and some hot sauce. ( sorry no picture 📸 of the wings) we also ordered the brisket sandwich and the jalapeño poppers, both so-so, if I would return i’ll order the poppers, ask for plain wings and bring my own buffalo sauce and...

Gereserveerd met vrienden op vrijdag avond. Wij zijn binnen gestapt niet weten wat te verwachten. Gestart met een gin tonic met dennennaalden smaak dat viel al direct goed in de smaak. En dan begon het de vrouwtjes hebben crab cakes besteld Als voorgerecht deze waren echt lekker krokant van buiten en zacht en smaakvol vanbinnen. De barn bals overheerlijk. En de Mexican nachos waren ook overheerlijk deze was enkel een grote portie voor alleen te eten maar om te scharen perfect. Hoofd gerechten man man de steak perfect gebakken zoals gevraagd lekker zacht en smaakvol vlees. Dan de ribbekes tja wat kan ik daar over zeggen. Als je zelfs geen mes nodig hebt om het vlees van het bot te halen. Voor mij persoonlijk waren deze zeker in mijn top 3 ooit gegeten te hebben zo zacht ook zo smaakvol. Die bbq saus net genoeg er op niet overheersend. De sicy patatjes voor mij waren ze niet echt spicy maar dat is persoonlijke smaak ik ben een echte spicy lover. Het dessert marshmallow met chocolade en petit beure koekjes zo simpel dat het groot is eigenlijk maar wederom om duimen en vingers van af te likken. En dan de bediening wij gaan regelmatig uit eten en wat een leuke vlotte dame heeft ons bediend ondanks het vele werk dat ze had nam ze de tijd om onze vragen te beantwoorden. Echt een top dame. Dessert werd opgediend door de chef zelf was ook wel aangenaam. Tot slot wil ik de vriendelijke dame en de chef echt bedanken voor de super gezellige avond en chef blijf zo verder koken wij...
