Rosario Lier — Restaurant in Lier

I want to preface this review by saying there are better places to eat in Lier. Even a chain restaurant will have better quality and service. The food itself was okay. Not great and definitely not worth the price, but inoffensive. My issue is with the service. The young women working at the restaurant are very polite and friendly. The men working at the establishment are very abrasive and are not familiar with basic hospitality standards. We went to dinner to celebrate my friend’s birthday. I ordered a cheese pizza and my friend asked how the pizza bolognese was served. Typical question as the menu didn’t indicate and only listed ingredients. The man taking our order pointed at the menu and told my friend it’s just a pizza bolognese, told him to look at the menu and then shrugged. My friend asked again for clarification and the man seemed impatient as he explained. Our food arrived and all seemed fine. We ask for the check and as it was my friends birthday, I wanted to pay for his dinner as well. I only had card and we were not told before ordering that the card reader was “not working.” The man who collected payment said they only accept cash right now and kept waiting for me to take out cash and I told him I didn’t have enough. Luckily my friend had enough cash to pay. Our bill was €40 and he paid €50. We waited 10 minutes for our change and it never arrived. I went inside the restaurant to ask for the change back and there was confusion. The young lady working inside did try to help and we tracked down the man who collected payment and I told him we did not receive our change, to which he said he “forgot.” We left promptly after that. Considering the poor customer service, mediocre food and lack of a functioning card reader, I would not be surprised if this restaurant was a money...

A typical Italian restaurant with nice pizza's and pasta options, also a good variety of other dishes at fair prices ( like seafood salades or other italian dishes) . Its a big restaurant still they created a kind of private corner for every table, yet i would not go as far as calling it romantic. The place is often crowded but they manage a good table service and and waiting time. ( at least the times I visited)

Had made reservztions, never got the promised confirmation. Arriving at the restaurant, our places weren't reserved. My pizza calzone was luke warm inside, the vegetables weren't cooked and it had way too much mozzarella cheese that was chewy to eat. Service was bad, forgot one person (we were 7 guests) ordered lasagne. Never asked if we needed anythig else, starting clearing the table before we were completely done. Overall, it seemed like they didn't really wanted our business. I live in the city but won't go...
