La Vigna — Restaurant in Mechelen

We recently had the pleasure of dining at La Vigna, and it was an experience I’ll remember for a long time! From the moment we walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, offering great recommendations and making sure we felt comfortable throughout the meal.

The food was absolutely outstanding. I started with the Carpaccio, which was fresh and bursting with flavor. For the main course, I had the small sole fish, and it was perfectly cooked — tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. The flavors blended so harmoniously, and each bite was more satisfying than the last. I also had to try the Crème brûlée, and it did not disappoint! Rich, creamy, and the perfect end to an unforgettable meal.

What truly set this place apart, though, was the personal touch from the staff. They took the time to make sure every detail was just right, and you could really tell they cared about the dining experience. It’s not often you find a place where you can relax and feel like part of the family.

What a lovely discovery in Mechelen - an Italian restaurant focused on quality (a wisely composed menu), with a cosy and friendly atmosphere. The grilled mix fish&seafood was excellent. We are only sorry we did not take a photo of it.

The grilled Angus was as well delicios and well accompanied by small veggies and wedge potatoes - a power boost after running all day in Technopolis 😀. The neighbours took a very appealing risotto - I would recommend it only by the looks and aroma!

We took a red and white glasses of wine with our respective food and they rounded well the flavours of the meal. Unfortunately we felt too tired after the day to give a try to the desserts, but judging by what was brought to the neighbours, they looked promising. Next time, I will dive into that tiramisu!

All in all for two adults and a child, three main courses (the grill and the steak at around 30+ euro/portion), water and wine we were around 120 euro for the entire meal, to give a sense of you might spend.

For a higher end italian restaurant I was a disappointed. The food was good (but not spectacular), but the service was not good. Had to wait for some time to get a menu card for starters, the suggestions were not on the menu, and were explained at the table, but it was very hard to understand, and the explanation was very short..., all dishes got put on the table without any explanation (we got an amuse bouche and didn't know what it was), bread with the starters was put on the table when our plate was finished..not really the serivce you expect when paying that money for an...
