Genval Les Bains — Restaurant in Rixensart

Well, what to say. This place wants to be taken for a higher class restaurant but can't live it. I ordered a starter and a main with a glass of wine and water. The waiter asked me if I wanted the glass of wine with the starter. I said yes. And guess what, I got my starter and no drinks. Waited a few minutes but despite the fact that there were 5 waiters next to the bar, not a single one looked at me. I had to wave intensively so that one came finally to ask me what I wanted. I asked for my drinks and he went to speak to the waiter that took my order "Noam". He did not even look at me and nobody took care of my drinks. I saw the one that came to me after I waved insisting with 2 other waiters. Still no action. It took several more minutes to get them finally prepare my drinks and to bring them to me. I wanted to enjoy my starter with the glass of white wine. I had to eat it without any drink or it would have become totally cold. Shame on you Genval Les Bains. You are not worth the style that you give...

We made an online reservation in May '21 via their website. I got email confirmation the day after. I wrote an email to the hotel to inform them that one more person will be added, but no answer. Finally the day arrive and I go to the restaurant, which seems closed so I asked the hotel staff. The hotel receptionist tell me that the restaurant is closed due to the pandemic (not true: terraces opened 10 days before), that they tried to call me (not true) and that they contacted me by email (not true). We we're for lunch resterday, made a reservation weeks ago. 1 person vegetarian, announced. When I go to another place with this budget, they cook a special menu for me. I mentioned it again when arriving. 6 different waiters we're serving us, only one able to talk in english. One waiter smelled like alcohol. First course came with meat, second trial seafood by the chief himself. Welcome to the 21st century.....the food was definetely not good. Even the non vegy wasn't. We are diplomates, knowing a lot of people. We will not recommend...
