La Laguna — Restaurant in Rixensart

Very different from what I remember. Long ago it used to be one of the best Italian restaurants I've known. But as of lately I've been reading other reviews and friends of mine had lot to say about this restaurant. So I decided for once and for all to see what's going on.

First red flag for me was that I was given olives for starter, two crackers, and an empty oily pot.. I asked the staff about it and they told me it was for putting the olive seeds there... but why was that pot already oily? As if it were used. The food was not inspiring. I ordered a pizza, but the pizza didn't really look inspiring, nor was it delicious... it was nowhere close to what it used to be like many years ago. I appreciate for my drink they gave ice cubes with a lemon slice. No bread and butter starter was offered... whereas before it was standard.

The service was not exactly the best compared to before. Twice I spotted them serve the wrong order to other customers. I was served the pizza, but 20 minutes later another waiter came with the same pizza (it looked way more presentable than the one I ate). But I told him I already ate my pizza...

Twice I asked for the dessert menu. The two different waiters heard my request. Yet 5 minutes later, I spot them serving other clients and no sign of the desserts menu for me. Before, everyone used to wear a uniform, it used to look presentable. But this time I saw no one wearing uniforms or such, the environment seemed too relaxed. It was slow service.

The ambience takes the trophy, but it doesn't feel the same anymore. The ambience is only good when the food and service are...

We recently visited this restaurant with my family, excited to enjoy some drinks and snacks together. Unfortunately, our experience took an unexpected turn when the waiter insisted that we order at least four pizzas. When I requested to speak with the manager, hoping for a resolution, I was met with the same level of rudeness. It left me feeling disheartened and even questioning if there might have been a bias based on our religion. It would have been helpful if the restaurant had kindly informed us beforehand about their food-only service during that time, rather than repeating the waiter’s behavior. Additionally, they didn’t allow us to share food, which further added to our disappointment, When we were leaving the restaurant, I couldn’t help but notice how the waitresses were giving us these smiles that seemed a little too pleased, almost like they were finding joy in the fact that our night didn’t go as planned. It brought me down to see them acting that way because it only added to our disappointment. It would have been so much nicer if they had shown some understanding and empathy at that moment. In search of a place that values and respects its customers, we decided to find another...

Worst time I ever had in a restaurant even though we only spent about 30 min there. We asked if they have a place near the lake but they treated us like low grade people for not having a rezervation. I undersand a restaurant can have reserved tables but you must explain this to with respect. They were rude and disrespectfull. Finally we did take a table somewhere else planing to eat and drink and spend some hours there as the restaurant has a very nice view over the lake. (the reason we went there) Me and my wife wanted to drink something first (we ordered a beer and a cocktail). Our son (10 years old) could not wait so we ordered a pizza for him and told the waiter to come back after we finish our drinks for our meal orders. They took the order, for the pizza, only to have it canceled by a very rude waiter who told us that we all have to order a meal or leave. Just when we were preparing to leave, they din bring the pizza but urged us to order as well or leave. They did not want to at least let my son eat and took back the pizza.
