Le Chine — Restaurant in Saint Vith

Never enjoyed such blatant inhospitability this much! As 4 hungry cyclists with 100+ kilometers through the Ardennes behind us we arrived after 9 pm and most of the restaurants in town were already closed. As La Chine would only close at 10 pm according to the information on google, we decided to call. However, on the phone it was curtly reported that they would close the doors at 9.30 pm as they hung up the phone. Somewhat bewildered, we decided to give it a shot anyway. Once we arrived, we were accepted by the hostess with visible irritation, but only on the condition that we would order within 2 minutes. This was exactly what we had hoped for as we were very hungry and hoping to eat quickly. After 1 minute she came back to the table and told us what we wanted to order. With bouncing plates, cutlery and prawn crackers, the table was prepared as she shouted to the kitchen what she decided she would order for us. We were already filled with joy at this point by the speed of the service. This only increased because of the excellent quality of the dishes that kept magically appearing on the table. After finishing our plates we were still a little bit hungry. With some Dutch cottage we dared asking for a second round. With hands up to the heavens above and looks of apology to the kitchen, our amazing hostess made sure a second round was on the table within a minute. What a great service! This is absolutely stupid , i was in the restaurant and i was about to order, i got for a second out to the car and they shut the door , it is 12.55 and the restaurant shuts at 13.45 , they have customers inside and refuse to serve us . This...

Nog nooit zo snel een bediening gezien Zelfs niet de tijd om derde aperitief te drinken en daar staan ze al met het eten. Aperitief is ok. Kip met noedels is al klaar ´a 3 minuten. De stukken kip werden eerst gekookt en dan gewokt met als resultaat kurkdroge kip die amper aanwezig in de schotel. Gebrek aan groenten saus en kruiding. Porties zijn ruim. Haast en spoed is zelden goed is een uitdrukking die hier helemaal klopt. Als ik hier een 5/10 geef ben ik mild en dan gaan er vooral nog punt naar de ligging...
