The Wishing-Table — Restaurant in Saint Vith

We stopped here on our drive back to Germany from Brussels. We needed food. I believe this type of restaurant would be called a Friterie. Which means everything is ready to go and then popped into the fryer to prepare. The burger and fries were ok. The chicken wings were delicious. Lumpia was quite good. Pork croquette was not my favorite just because of the texture, not the flavor, but it was my first croquette. I think trying more it could grow on me. The experience was fun here. First, you look into the case to see which items you might want to sample. The service here was friendly and patient. We ordered the food for takeaway, and it was served in small paper trays, then wrapped in a large sheet of paper, and we were given a convenient box to carry it all in. We had the feeling the people dining there did so on a regular basis as it is a very small and absolute gorgeous residential area. I can not imagine living with such a beautiful view. Nachdem wir dort ausgezeichnete Pastetchen mit Fritten gegessen hatten fuhren wir zwei Tage Später 20km dort hin um nochmal zu essen. Diesmal war anscheinend Personal an der Ausgabe. Eine Frau war dauernd am Arbeiten, eine Kollegin mit rötlichen Haaren ließ mich ca. 5 Minuten stehen um Ihre Privaten Gespräche mit einer anderen Frau zu führen. Ich habe mich während dieser Zeit in Selbstbeherrschung geübt um den Damen nicht ,, ein paar Takte" zu sagen und uns den Abend nicht zu verderben. Wir bestellen Pastetchen und Gullasch mit Fritten. Die Pastete war geschmacklich weit entfernt von dem was ich 2 Tage vorher gegessen hatte und das Gullasch eine Katastrophe! Fleischstücke die nicht scharf angebraten waren in einer geschacklosen geronnenen Tomatensosse und als Zugabe befanden sich einige Fritten in der Sosse. (Gullasch mit Fritten und Fritten).
