My gf and I are both from Spain and we're visiting Brussels for the first time, we forgot that dinner time was much earlier than in our country and most places had closed kitchens. We happened to see the sign, and we wanted to try with L'Estaminet. There we met Alex, super nice guy, who spoke Spanish and understood the situation well, and despite the time decided to cook us a tasty meal and seat down to eat with us and make us some company, we tried the soup, the quiche and a sandwich. Read moreThis place is absolutely breathtaking. Not just the insides, but maybe especially the garden outside, which is so green and has a small fountain.
That said, I don't think this place should be on happycow though. On the website they say they have several vegan options (vegetalienne), but then the sandwiches marked as such contain cheese. I'm tired of misleading marking like that.
They have a vegan soup, but none of the sandwiches are vegan. The waitress said they could make the sandwiches vegan by taking away the cheese, but that's not a proper option.
