Meat Mozart - Steak and Wine House — Restaurant in Uccle - Ukkel

Extremely rude waiter. Could not care about a group of 4 during lunch time. There were 4 tables to take care of and we waited 10 minutes for the menu then another 15 minutes to order drinks. He was constantly busy looking towards the kitchen on his phone not checking to see if we were ready to order. Then when he came over to order food, only 1 of us was able to order before he stopped paying attention and just talked over us to a group that had just arrived. He was always interrupting us whilst taking our orders and being very argumentative. He was also asking us to repeat the orders because he was not paying attention. In the end, one of the orders was wrong.

He then got annoyed when we were chatting to another table, barging in to take away our plates. He made sure to interrupt our conversation with an attitude to insist on ordering desert. Then when the table was cleared, it took less than 30 seconds when he came back with the bill (no one asked for it), slammed it on the table and announced "voila l'addition". The last bit of drama from him was when we asked to pay separately. He let out a massive, obvious sigh and then reluctantly proceeded with payment.

Not an enjoyable experience, full of unnecessary attitude because he was annoyed that he had POLITE customers. We always asked for everything with "please" and thanked him for bringing stuff over but this guy deserved none of out politeness. I really regret going here and I felt very sorry for the table next to us who were very sweet and chatty who also had to deal with rushed approach/on edgeness. They were an old couple who were not familiar with the menu and he listed off everything at the speed of light. They look visibly confused and he gave them an attitude. The surprised look on their faces when they received the food says it all. Being interrupted in the middle of a pleasant conversation ruined my already crap lunch.

I don't like rude people especially when I'm paying a pretty sum for the food.

Great food, mediocre service at best. Started well with an attentive waiter who was very accommodating of our English. Then the family sitting next to us somehow became the center of attention, as literally every member of the wait staff either stopped to talk to them or sat down at their table with them. It’s all good, a neighborhood retaurant is the fabric of the community - until you’re excluded from it.

We ordered our second glass of wine twice, after over an hour it arrives toward the end of our meal. The table water we were paying for ran out less than half way through the meal, but no one was paying enough attention to notice or ask us if we wanted more. Later we asked for our check and waited again for 30 minutes until I had to get up and ask for it a second time.

Again, the food was very good, but for the entire wait staff to get so preoccupied as to ignore other customers is unacceptable. I understand the differences between American service and European service, but when paying over 160e for a meal, I expect attention more than once every 45 minutes. I honestly appriciate the American tipping system more after an experience like this. When there’s nothing to lose, there can be no motivation to give, or even care for...

3* because I think there is great potential but a lot of improvement room!

Very nice and cosy Inwould come again in the winter. The staff is very friendly and responsive. Decor is very nice too!

For the most part it was good but I believe there is room for improvement. The AC was NOT working and the air inside was suffocating. It felt the room had no ventilation, with only the front door being open... Wine glasses were a bit dirty from the dishwasher but they were changed.

Food : Apero dish was served fast. The dish itself could be a bit bigger for the price or there could be a bit of improvement in the quality of the ingredients. 14 euros for 10 (very mediocre) olives, 10(!!!?!) tortilla chips, a couple of salami slices and cheese slices seems a bit exaggerated.... The side dishes sizes could be a bit bigger since potatoes are not that expensive?! 1 medium potato or (probably) 20 fries is not really enough, even next to a salad that tiny that it fits into your palm. Meat was cooked ok for myvtaste, a lot of flavor in it but some parts were rare (as ordered) and some were almost done. Tasted excellent nevertheless and very tender.
