Heaven's Court — Restaurant in Veurne

We found this place as we stayed in St Idesbald coastal town. It was a surprise from beginning till end. From the appetiser at the start to the fabulous Bouillabaisse (very yummy fish soup) full of massive bits of lovely fish) the advice of which beer to have with it and the gorgeous location full of history. Who needs Bruges! Go to Veurne instead, no tourists and the lovely coast nearby. The top of it all was the ceramics that were for sale too and the enthusiasm of the owners was heartfelt. A nice restaurant in the centrum of Veurne. The food is very good and the service very friendly. The special thing about this restaurant is that they owner/cook makes pottery, the plates you eat on and so on are his creations. The pottery is for sale too. The wife of the the owner is specialized in beers, so she can suggest the best beer for the dinner of your choosing. Friendly welcome by Martine wife of the chef, we chose our table when booking and she adapted happily when we phoned to change our arrival time and added our two friends. Extensive beer menu with knowledgable guidance from our hostess. Excellent traditional Belgian classic cuisine in relaxed setting in beautiful historic building.
