Nice decor and vibe, friendly staff, but flawed ordering system resulting in mediocre overall experience. My experience: I was very excited to see a new Filipino restaurant on Google maps, so I booked a table for dinner on my birthday. After some trouble finding a parking spot, we were warmly received and able to order. Unfortunately our order was forgotten/delayed, so we sat there hungry for more than an hour watching the other guests being served. We ordered another round of drinks to tie us over which was also delayed. I initially wanted to stay for dessert, but after we had finally gotten (and inhaled!) the meal, I was so miserable that I just wanted to go home. The food/concept: This place shouldn't call itself Filipino. The most Filipino thing about this establishment is its name. It has 3 or 4 Filipino dishes next to many others (Belgian and Asian ones). Not a problem in itself, but they clearly can't live up to what they promise. My biggest problem was their adobo. It's the national dish of the Philippines, popular worldwide and very easy to get right. They served chicken in soy sauce with pineapple - edible, but neither authentic nor particularly tasty. No sign of garlic or vinegar. Just for that, I would have been ashamed to bring any family from the Philippines there which I luckily didn't. To be fair, the rest of the food was good, suitable portions, nice presentation and the calamansi juice was excellent. Prices were quite reasonable, despite inflation which you now see everywhere. Conclusion: Probably a nice place for a casual dinner if you're looking for unspecific Asian fare (and if you're not Asian). Parking has become very difficult on Pl St Lambert, not the restaurant's fault, but still a factor. My personal experience was very disappointing, but if you're luckier than me, you might have a good time there. I mean most other guests (all Caucasian)...
Read moreFinally, we found time to have dinner here after almost a year of planning , funny coz we just live 4 metro stations away. I would say that I was surprised(+) and happy when I saw the place in person. This was much bigger than the previous Filipino resto I used to frequent pre pandemic. The ambiance and decors were both commendable. Staff was accommodating and always ready to help. I was expecting a more wide option for Filipino dishes but not a big deal coz the crispy pata that we were craving for was there, which was delicious by the way though it lacked initially the soy sauce with chili dip (my favorite) but you know, the guy who attended to us was always on the go to get what we requested đđđ. Les entrĂ©es Ă©taient aussi goĂ»teuses. Malasa ang peanut sauce, usually not used to it but this one was good. Crispy pata size was also great par rapport au prix and just right for a âBelgian priceâ. Filipino dessert choices were not varied neither but if youâre a first timer, Turon is quite enough though I got the calamansi sorbet this time. We went home taking out Kare-Kare and Lechong Kawali. Is it worth coming back? I would say so âŠ.. hope it wonât take another year to revisit...
Read moreCame here for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the Filipino dishes. The taste is quite close to what theyâre like in the Philippines so am quite satisfied to have a taste of home in this restaurant. Even in cases where there is slight deviation in recipe (e.g sisig where Iâm not used to having bell peppers), I still enjoyed it. The service is also very good. Really appreciated being served the ube ice cream even if it just arrived from the supplier after weâve already finished the dessert because the server knew I was craving for it. Try the Turon and ube ice cream for dessert! Came out to about 50 per person but for entree, main and dessert (servings are...
