Brace yourselves! We were booked into this hotel by the airline as our flight got cancelled. As dinner is paid by the airline, we were told the hotel restaurant has to stay within a budget and so canât offer different options from the menu but only one dish. We can all understand and respect that. However, the way we were treated by one waitress was outright rude and aggressive. Why this person works a job in service is completely beyond me. So the dish they offered was a beef burger. As most of us are vegetarian/vegan, we politely asked if it was possible to make it a vegetarian/vegan burger. (They have one on their menu). The waitress made us feel like this was a ridiculous request and directly said no, but wanted to check if the kitchen will prepare a salad. She then asked if everyone else was ok having ânormal foodâ. One of my colleagues apologetically told her she was allergic and could only eat gluten-free. The waitress rolled her eyes so hard and literally laughed at her! As there was no drinks menu, we asked which drinks they had we could order and she simply refused to tell us because âyou need to know what you want to drink!â In the end, there was an escalation. She was aggressively shouting at us and her colleague/boss had to grab her by the arm and literally pull her away from our table. I understand everyone has bad days but this experience was quite extreme. I think you can stay respectful in your communication. Luckily, the manager then did serve us the vegetarian/vegan option, as well as one gluten-free one, so we are very grateful for that. In the beginning they had told us there was a dessert included, but it never got served. Anyway, after this whole fiasco, we refrained from asking about it and left after the main dish. All the other staff were friendly with us! This one waitresses attitude and behaviour was quite something. Brace yourselves (if you donât eat meat or dare to have any...
Read moreI cannot really see why wo many people write so positively about the place. Yes, it is a very nice location indeed that seems to have been remodeled just recently. The staff however is unorganized to say the least. Besides the fact that we were first told we wouldn't get something to eat within at least 40 minutes we were also told that we couldn't even place an order for another 20 minutes so that the kitchen could work off existing orders. Not even a thought on "you can give me your order and I'll just give it to the kitchen asap". But after we convinced the friendly waitress we could place our order now and she indeed did forward it to the kitchen as soon as the were able to process them. First restaurant ever that told me I just couldn't order food right now because the kitchen is busy. Waiting time at lunchtime was very long and we were pretty much the only guests. We didn't time the wait in the evening, but it was long. And even longer for people before us. We were served a soup, that was an, lets say, extremely unappealing green colour and bland taste. The waiter noticed we did not even have spoons so he left to get them. And chatted with a colleague on the way. Not a businesslike exchange of information but a friendly chatter as if there was nothing to do while we sat staring at our green mess of a soup. Of course he also forgot my order for a beer. Seems chatting with the colleague was way more interesting. And this is how the staff generally works in that restaurant. All the dishes I had were mediocre. Ceasar Salad with dried out chicken strips. A green, tasteless mush of a soup. The pretty small for the price steak was nevertheless done correctly and presented nicely. Although again with a Rocket salad lacking even a hint of oil or vinegar and thus completely dry. The...
Read moreVery lovely place and they got a great airconditioning when itâs so hot. Only down side was it took them more 40m to get drink (it wasnât that busy but probably low of capacity even though it was well staffed indoor than the outdoor. On top of that it took another 20m for the waiter to get the last drink of the order (you should serve if everything isnât ready as it will leave one person uncomfortable if it take more than 5m). Also he got the order wrong for two people and took away all the drinks even though it was not empty (we were talking about if we want another drink as most of them finished it but he could have asked if I was going to drink my beer up or just leave it). This remarks is from experience as a waiter/bartender. Itâs impolite to go with assumptions and itâs always good to be attentive and just ask (especially if you are uncertain). The wrong order was replace by the correct one but the waiter forgot to change it on the billing machine đ so he can pay attention to it next time. Probably itâs his first day (it was quite embarrassing for my side to try to stop him being unfinished drink inside of the building).
Overall my experience in the Craft was nice. Definitely would love to try...
