Ordered a margarita pizza, the image in the menu and the website was nothing like the food that I got. The crust was doused in flour, the sauce tastes like bowling alley pizza, and the “margarita pizza” was just a cheese pizza with dried basil sprinkled on top. The meat lovers pizza that someone in my party ordered has “sausage” that tasted and looked like chopped up hot dog. A “Cesar salad” that was ordered was not a Cesar salad at all. The service was also terrible. The waitress handed out silverware out to one person and made them distribute it, did the same thing with food, and wouldn’t even walk around the table to pick up dishes. She made us hand her our dishes and looked over our shoulder while we were writing the tip. Atmosphere was fine, nice view of the ocean but impossible to make up for terrible food and service. Absolutely would not recommend

Each time we drove by this restaurant, the parking lot was empty. We decided to try it and it was ok. The menu shown is completely different than what they gave us. It’s a very small menu with nothing but Mexican food. Nothing wrong with that but they desperately needed seasoning on each of their plates. Not sure if we will return. The ambience was nice as was the decor.

We were here during the off-season and it was fantastic. Our bartender major made us feel extremely welcomed, taught us about Bailey's, and was a good vibe. Vibe. Happy hour was amazing, and the food was delicious. The value also was right on point. They play country music here, which I learned was commonplace for Belize. We loved it so much, we came back.

Longer version below. Short summary: 1) Received wrong order. 2) I was charged the higher price of the meal I didn't order. 3) Very poor customer service. 4) False price advertising, 5) Average food. Very disatisfied. The restaurant owner needs to stop lying to its customers about its pricing.

  1. received the wrong order after confirming my order (a mushroom melt burger) with the waitress two times. When showing that my burger clearly didn't have mushrooms, the waitress went to go "check" the kitchen (without my plate) to see what went wrong... She then offered to put mushrooms on the side... Annoyed and not wanting to waste food I went ahead and ate the burger and found out after paying that she charged me the increased price of what I hadn't ordered. 2) The restaurant gave us (group of 6) drink menus with lower advertised drink prices than what we were billed for. They also gave us a QR code where food prices where also not consistent with what was billed. When pointing that out, the staff recognized the differences, would not lower the billed amounts to their advertised pricing stating that their "system" had changed and that they could do nothing. 3) When looking for explanations from higher management, none were available to adress our disatisfaction about their misleading prices. 4) Food was ok, not bad but not great. Would not recommend Very...

One of our first dining experiences in Placencia and it wasn't great, in fact it was flat out terrible. The positive is the location and the service is great. The food though... easily the worst food I've had in Belize.

It's some of the cheapest bar food you can imagine. Everything is soggy and just going through the motions of being semi-edible. It's worse than some of the worst American bar food. I'd expect so much more from Placencia but it just feels like the cheapest food possible for naive tourists to just get them to drink. I wanted to drink after I ate it just to forget about eating it. There are way better restaurants in town that actually care about the craft that goes into making edible food. Belize has such a rich culture, it's a shame to see a local restaurant like Mangos taint that with subpar American bar food. And to top it all off, it was one of the more expensive meals I've had in the area. Will never eat here ever again. You want real food? go to RumBum just a few seconds north of here.

I feel awful for writing this review, but I expect more from Belize, it's why we moved here to get away from this low quality...
