Hello all and please read this, it may help you. Being a Hopkins resident for 7 years now, I enjoy trying new places, especially places that boast about their great martinis and ambience. A dear friend has been asking me to try Inkys with her for several months now and we finally ventured out this past Friday evening. I should have realized that first impressions are the best as soon as we had to walk up a multitude of steps to get up there. Aside from that the ambience was beautiful, the wait staff (Stacy) was phenomenal, but, but, but the bar staff must still be trying to get their certification. After ordering 2 of my personal martinis and giving explicit instructions they were really undrinkable. Think about this; how hard is it to make a Tito's martini with a splash of Gran Marnier? I had to wait 20 minutes for the first mistake to arrive before I sent it back then another 20 minutes for the second mistake which I forced down. In the interim I attempted to light a cigar and I was told it's a smoke free environment Really! A smoke free martini bar in an open air environment? I will try inkys one more time in the next couple of months and if their procedures don't change, I'm through. It's really a shame because the food (we both had sushi) was really good but having a martini without a decent cigar is like being served a delicious steak and no silverware. Hopefully, eventually they'll get it right or it's their bottom line that will...
Read moreThis was a higher end location for tourists. Food was good and staff well worth getting to know. I very much appreciated learning about the waiters knowledge of the local area and the village he came from. They have every right to be so very proud of where they live. I was so grateful to learn I was traveling to a village where the waiter was from and he offered so many wonderful suggestions. It made my visit to Inkys so worth it. The little gold area was a nice way to keep kids busy while adult enjoyed some time. Should also mention they have a few flavors of gelato from tutti-frutti from town so helped from driving 35 minutes...
Read moreEnjoyed my dinner here more than some of the nearby restaurants (e.g. the Bonefish Grille or Maya Hotel & Bistro). My husband and I arrived about 6:15pm and were the first ones in the dining area. Everything we ordered arrived within 10-15 minutes, the fastest we've seen in Belize. However, a couple who arrived during the dinner rush (7ish) said it took forever to get their food. The food was delicious, although the portions seemed small. The fresh fruit grownup slushies are yummy. After dinner, we enjoyed a game of mini golf and homemade gelato. Beautiful atmosphere. Would recommend it you're staying...
