We were certainly âlostâ in the Triangle. Iâll start by saying that the food was delicious and very well done, kudos to the chef! However.... upon arrival for a premade reservation, we waited for 10 minutes with a party of eight including two children for our table to be ready (The restaurant was basically empty and there was only one waitress working the floor). From there we waited 30 minutes for our drink order to be taken. Then we waited another 15 minutes for our children to receive their crayons and placemats. About 15 minutes after that our drinks arrived. Upon arrival of our drinks most of them were incorrect or forgotten. Finally we were able to place our food order, the waitress returned our table no less than five times to clarify our order, she had it very, very incorrect (For example she asked if we wanted sauce on the fish sandwich, there was no fish sandwich ordered, it was a chicken sandwich). Eventually our food arrived, which was amazing! When we received our bill we were requested that the drinks that were incorrect, sparkling water instead of still for example, were removed from our bill. The waitress proceeded to audibly exclaim her disappointment and complain that we asked the bill to be corrected to the other waitstaff. Iâll go ahead and add that the remaining waitstaff of the entire restaurant was sitting at the bar drinking and socializing while we were eating dinner. Additionally, we were literally one of two tables in the entire restaurant with people eating. The restaurant was empty except for us and one other table. Bottom line, it seems that if you are a local you receive excellent service, if you are a tourist not so much. Proceed with caution! If you decide to risk it, order the Bermuda fish chowder,...
Read moreLITT is yet another one of these places popping up with with exorbitant tip creep.
I'll ignore that my medium rare burger order came well done. The veggie rolls that my friend ordered weren't the same as what she had previously had there before, which is why she wanted to go in the first place. The staff had no idea what she was talking about. It could have been because of staff turnover.
The food was definitely sub par by Bermuda standards, but the staff were very nice, polite and the waiter kept checking up and did a good job.
As for the tip creep mentioned earlier, this along with the prices are the problem. When the bill comes there's already a mandatory 17.5% service gratuity, but on top of that a tip is also expected. I've seen other places like Pickled Onion doing things like this too but it's incredible annoying to the customer.
They say the service charge is for the entire staff and the tip is for the waiter. So when you go into one of these overpriced restaurants, your expensive food isn't going towards paying the staff, you have to pay the staff on top of that because the restaurant sure isn't going to. Even worse when it's cheap foreign labour from Asia being used, no offense to them as they are hard workers, only to the restaurants that exploit both staff and customers alike.
It came to around $140 for a burger, veggie rolls, two orders of fries and 3 rum swizzles. It's basically a fast food joint. You can throw a rock out of a window and hit a restaurant that has better value for money by accident. I recommend Rustico instead. Similar polite foreign staff, high end food, high end atmostphere, no tips on top of service charge, although you may want...
Read moreA true culinary gem!! âLITT (Lost In The Triangle)âwhere weâve now had the pleasure of dining twice in the past two days: once for lunch and again tonight for dinner. And let me tell you⌠wow!
Both times, we were lucky to be served by the absolutely wonderful Nikka. She made us feel like we were guests in her own homeâwarm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about the food. Her recommendations from the daily catch were spot on. Hands down, the hogfish was our favoriteâflaky, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. And donât even think about leaving without trying the conch fritters⌠theyâre a must!
Chef Delvin is clearly a master in the kitchenâeach dish was bursting with fresh, bold flavors. On top of that, the manager came over personally to chat with us, offer some great local tips, and just make us feel right at home. It was such a thoughtful touch.
So if you find yourself anywhere near Warwick, make it a point to stop by LITT. And honestly, even if youâre not nearbyâitâs worth the trip. Cab it, walk it, sail in⌠just get there. You wonât regret it.
