Could be the best Japanese restaurant in Bolivia. I almost cried when I had first bite of my sushi. Man! This is a real sushi has real seafood inside, unlike other places full of rice and some cherry tomatoes inside as a pretend sushi. We haven't had a real sushi for almost 2 years since the beginning of pandemic locked in Bolivia early 2020. And Raman is so good here, real meat soup flavor with big piece of Pork. And the sashimi trout just insanely tender almost taste like a salmon. After been abused by all sorts of low quality but super expensive asian food in la paz in the last few week, such as Chinese Abd Korean and Vietnamese, We felt like found our home restaurant here. Food with reasonable price range , delicious and good service, We wish we found this restaurant earlier because only 2 days left before we have to fly back to our base city in Bolivia. But, seriously we could just fly back to la paz for that ramen! Yum!!!!! Thanks for the good food.
I saw some people wrote some bad review here stated that is not authentic Japanese, it might not be the best you had in your home country or compared with food in Japan, But it is already pretty good consider Bolivia so far away from Asia and this country has no ocean to get seafood. You felt satisfied for that Japanese itch;).

Read moreThe Kenchan restaurant is one of my favorite places. The setting is comfortable enough because it has that usual asian restaurant style but there’s a room, a special one that you can enter which resembles a Japanese style room which has a tatami on the floor. A tatami is a mat used as flooring material, in that room you have to be without shoes and on your knees just like in Japan. The food is great because if you are looking for Japanese food you can find ramen, tempura, a great variety of sushi, tofu, vegetarian dishes and also fish. There’s also the traditional sake drink which is expensive but worth getting. All of the menu is a little pricey but it’s worth getting. I really recommend Kenchan and I feel that if you want to have a little of the Japanese experience in La Paz then it's the...
Read moreThe only saving grace for this place that I tried was the yakitori. The lemonade was just straight warm sugar water, no lemon flavor. Worst lemonade of my life. I asked for more lemon and water in it to balance it out but it came back tasting the same. I told them to just take it back. I still paid for it.
The California roll had mayonnaise in it which is just weird and gross, and an insult to the name California roll.
Salad came with no dressing. I asked for vinegar and they said they didn’t have it, but they did bring limes.
I feel like the staff ignored me and I had to get their attention for everything. My seat was hidden in the back behind a pole so I just felt...
