Offers tasty and affordable meals, the drinks are also appropriately priced. The place has an amazing vibe about it, with friendly and attentive staff. I ordered the Steak melt with a side of Mac n' cheese. The steak was to die for, perfectly cooked, however, the Mac n' cheese was a bit bland and not properly seasoned (fixed that with some salt and pepper). For drinks, I ordered the long Island which was half off as it was their 'rush hour'.

Review 2 2024 When looks is deceiving. Absolute tasteless especially the prawns were broiled in water and the rest for a good 45min. The mussels had a white maize taste. My own fault seems to be twice bitten but coming back for more, but the hotel is so close , now I've learned my lesson. Review 1 2023 The toughest rump steak where did they get it from stole a 80 year old ox in India and dragged it to bots.

I had the chicken wings and fries, and I'd rate the overall meal a 6/10. The wings were a bit dry, though they did provide extra sauce. The margarita cocktail, however, was excellent and deserves an 8/10

You can look at my profile and see that nearly every review is five stars. I’m not hard to please. I also tend to be a very generous tipper and aim to respect the hard workers of the service industry. However, I don’t think I will ever return to News Cafe and I would like to advise others to avoid it as well.

For starters, the service was very slow, even by local standards. I like a relaxing meal as much as the next person, but we were there for at least two hours before receiving food. This was partially made up for by the admittedly steady flow of drinks. All was well enough, or so I thought.

When we got the bill, one of the items which had been listed on the menu as discounted when purchased as six, was not charged as discounted. Between two orders of the items, it came out to around P300 in excess charge. The otherwise very friendly waitress refused to modify the bill, and the manager was similarly unhelpful. At one point he said “this is going to be a problem,” referring to a decorative image further down the page as evidence that the charge was correct. We had no choice but to give in and pay. For the first time in my life, I decided not to leave a tip, and the other five of my group unanimously agreed. Our waitress asked where her tip was and when refused responded “no treat?” We left with no regrets about our handling of...

A friend of mine once invited me for a meeting here, to my surprise it turned out to be quite a lovely spot and mostly accommodated people who value themselves.

Very safe and sell different meals and drinks of all kinds at a very reasonable price. The staff was very nice to us even though we only placed few drinks and two meals.

It is one of those unexplored places in Gaborone which can make one forget the buzzle and the huddle of the city, very quite and safe.

I am gona visit this place as soon as i land in Gaborone, and oh! there is a lodge/hotel in...

ews Cafe, your service is completely unacceptable. Our waiter was quite dismissive, he literally walked away mid-sentence of getting our order. We waited forever for drinks, and over an hour for food that came out burnt. We asked to speak to the manager, but they didn't bother to come see us and we gave up and left. This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. I do not recommend News Cafe at all. Terrible service, burnt food, and zero...
