Casa de Araça — Restaurant in Região Geográfica Imediata de Angra dos Reis

We had our last dinner on Ilha Grande at Casa de Araça, and it was the perfect way to end our trip. Making a reservation through WhatsApp was super easy, and from the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed. The staff was incredibly kind and took the time to explain the ingredients and dishes in detail, which made the experience even more special.

We decided on a moqueca with traditional Amazonian ingredients, something unique that we hadn’t tried before. It was absolutely delicious, and we loved the opportunity to explore local flavors while traveling. To make the evening even better, they offered us two small liquors to pair with the meal, a thoughtful touch that added to the experience.

The prices are on the higher side, but that’s quite standard for the island. Considering the freshness and quality of the food, we felt it was absolutely worth it. If you’re looking for a special dining experience on Ilha Grande, we highly recommend...

We had a magical dinner at Casa de Araça twice in a row (2/4 nights of our stay in Ilha Grande). It has such an exquisite atmosphere: tables next to the water under the stars adorned with beautiful place settings and candles. The staff is lovely and kind and the food is nothing short of phenomenal. The filet mignon risotto absolutely BLEW me away. The ceviche was fresh, inspired, and bright as was the traditional moqueca we enjoyed. We will certainly be back soon!!!

This place is just wonderful!! The atmosphere is calm with only ~3 tables directly at the waterfront, lovingly decorated to the detail. It is family run, the lady goes above & beyond to make the dish a true delight; I asked for a veggie option & she made the best Mocequa I have ever tasted (& I have tasted quite a lot already). Everything is home made & will be tailored to your wishes. I ended up eating here multiple times & when it was raining she offered me her raincoat for the way to bring back on another day.
