I was part of a group of 6, and we were so looking forward to having a great first meal in Paraty.
The food was great, but the experience was ruined by the lack of service, the length of time everything took, and also being served a peanut dish despite telling the servers that one member of our group is deathly allergic to peanuts.
We arrived at the restaurant at 5pm, and only left 9:45pm! We had just arrived to Paraty from a long day of traveling and we were keen to eat here after seeing all of the great reviews. On arrival, we were told they were very busy, and that it would take 40 minutes for our order to be taken, but that we could sit down meanwhile and enjoy some drinks. It took 25 minutes to get a menu, and then another hour to get an initial round of beer. After their service was done, we were told they weren't going to start the next evening service until an hour later. We felt like this should have been told to us before we sat down.. at this point we had wasted 2h30 hours with no food, and just beer...we felt ignored and totally not taken care of.
Eventually after 3 hours, we got some starters, but prior, after explicitly telling the servers numerous times that one of us is badly allergic to peanuts - a dish came out that had been cooked with peanuts in the dough.
Through all of this nonsense, we remained patient, yet somehow we got our food later than a couple who had arrived TWO hours later than us.
I would not recommend coming here unless you want to wait several hours for your food and have...
Read moreWhat a hidden gem and wonderful, truly tasty and welcoming spot. We were blown away by our visit - everyone staying in and around Paraty has to come here! We had the most amazing meal - we shared the seafood stew and it was glorious. So tasty and fresh (and plentiful) with so much fresh, perfectly cooked local fish in a delicious broth - think huge mussels, shrimps, squid, octopus and a huge, meaty chunk of fish. All of this was washed down with the most gorgeous and unusual cocktails that you won’t find anywhere else. Please visit this beautiful restaurant - you won’t regret it!
Big shout out to Elisa, our waitress, who gave us impeccable recommendations, made us laugh with every visit to our table and taught us a few new Portuguese words with her excellent English language skills. Plus, the musician who performed throughout our meal was the best we’ve seen in Paraty. What an amazing place! Wish I could give...
Read moreAwesome little restaurant out of a house a few blocks back from the beach. Delicious Bahian food. We ate lunch here 3 times in 5 days (they were closed Monday and Tuesday). First off we had the Caldeirada de Frutos do Mar with fresh seafood, next lunch was the Feijoada de Frutos do Mar and our final lunch was of course Moqueca de Peixe, all fresh and made to order and delicious! My favourite was the caldeirada and my wife loved the moqueca. Great little find and great prices for the quality provided. Service was top notch and...
