Beijupirá Praia dos Carneiros — Restaurant in Região Geográfica Imediata de Barreiros-Sirinhaém

UPDATED REVIEW Apr. 2022 We ate here 2 years ago and had a fantastic meal, so when we planned to visit this area again, naturally, this was on our list. Sadly, the food was not nearly as good as the last time. “Mediocre” would be an overly generous description of the food we ate here this time. If this was my first time here, I don’t think I would come back. We ordered 2 appetizers: an octopus vinaigrette and Mixira do Mar (which was supposed to be octopus, shellfish and shrimp in a “special sauce”). The octopus vinaigrette was dry and looked old and was served with honey mustard dressing (really!), which just didn’t belong on this. The Mixira was simply awful: the “special sauce” tasted like a mixture of ketchup, mayonnaise and cream and was overly sweet. It consisted of 1 piece of octopus, 1 mussel and 3 small shrimp; also, it was not hot. Our main dish was served at the same time as the 2 appetizers, which I hate more than anything that a restaurant can do—it really ruins the dining experience when they throw all the food at you at once. I think the kitchen wanted to close, but that’s not my problem, especially since the restaurant wasn’t closing for another hour. The location continues to be beautiful—whether you sit inside or outside by the beach, but when the food is a big “FAIL”, the view isn’t enough to make up for it.

ORIGINAL REVIEW Feb. 2020 5 Stars This is one of 5 restaurants with the name of Beijupirá. It’s not so much of a chain as it is an empire of great beach restaurants in the Brazilian state of Pernambuco. I’ve been to 2 of them, and if they’re any indication of their quality, I want to go to the other 3 as well! This one is in the beautiful beach town of Praia dos Carneiros (“Sheep Beach” in English), right next door to the incredible hotel we stayed at (Pontal dos Carneiros Beach Bungalows). Our waiter (Jaú) was the best! He was smart, attentive, knowledgeable and professional. All of the other servers were also very good. You never had to wait much for anything. The view from the restaurant is paradise! You sit right in front of the most beautiful part of a beautiful beach, looking at turquoise water and hearing the sound of the wind passing through the coconut trees all around you. We started out with a few caipirinhas, which were quite refreshing. My wife ordered the “Beijucaxi” which was a boneless mackerel breaded in panko with pineapple rice. I ordered the “Camarão Coco dos Carneiros” (shrimp served in a green coconut with rice). I don’t know which one was better—they were both sooooo delicious. I think mine was, because it was so pretty. The seasoning was perfect, the fish was cooked perfectly and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. We also had a bottle of sparkling wine with our meal and the whole thing (with tip) came to about $75!!! Nos sentimos desprezados! Sobre o prato “boa lembrança” fizemos um privativo mais caro porque o restaurante não agência com nenhum passeio, mas era a minha preferência então assim fiz, ao chegarmos no local, pagamos um day use mais caro que os concorrentes, seria ok se o restaurante tivesse algum destaque para tal estrelismo, mesmo com poucos visitantes não pudermos escolher onde gostariamos de nos acomodar, pois havia uma justificativa para tudo, os bangalôs que eram mais atrativos para mim (gestante) e meu filho de colo, foi negado, outro local era pago um valor de exclusividade de uso, durante o dia pedimos para que pudessem nos atender com mais uma esteira que foi (negado) e o motivo? Ficaria fora do “padrão e estética”. Ficamos revezando meu filho e eu em uma única esteira, enquanto ele tentava dormir, meu marido e eu sentado nas cadeiras desconfortáveis e duras do local, não houve nenhuma sensibilidade por parte de todos que trabalham no local. O cardápio não oferece nenhuma opção neutra, tudo bem o forte do restaurante é brincar com pratos agridoces, mas poderia e deveria atender e ter uma opção neutra, o prato da boa lembrança é o pior que eu já provei, camarão cru com um queijo flambado de sabor queimado, e um mel que não harmoniza em nada do prato. Pra fechar com chave de catástrofe, superfaturaram nossa comanda, o que foi percebido antes de pagarmos, o local é desconfortável e não tem fraldário. Um Dos melhores restaurantes pé na areia que ja fui. Praia dos carneiros e bem privada e tem poucos acessos, assim como restaurantes, mas esse é um deles, e super agradavel. Ele tem um estacionamento privado, pequeno. A entrada e uma estradinha de terra mais que não e muinto problema. O restaurante e exelente. Começando pelo ambiente, que por si ja vale a pena. Tem um salão mais afastado da beira mar, que tem arvores e fica na sombrinha. Na beira eles tem messas maiores para familia e algumas redes para descansar. Por ser pé na areia ele e bem agradavel tendo bastante sombra, otimo para o verão. Tem a natureza tambem com os saguis e passaros. A comida em si e muinto boa. Eles tem proções individuais, e também os pratos da boa lembrança. Estava com amigos e pedimos 3 pratos. Eu fui no Picadinho arretado, uma delicia. A carne de sol esta soltinha e massia. Tambem pedimos a Carne de sol Beijupirá, tambem delicioso. O prato especial da boa lembrança era a paella de frutos do mar de quinoa, que tambem estava otima. Mais o ponto alto foi a sobremesa, Aussuba. Sorvete de tapioca com caça e uma massa de cone. Foi o melhor sorvete de tapioca que ja comi e a caça em cima torna ele inresistivel. O preço é um pouco salgado, mais nada absurdo, se comparado com SP. O atendimento é otimo, e em alta estação recomendo pagar o day-use e usar o dia todo pois tem duchas e banheiros limpos.
