We paid twice as much for the villa not knowing that it comes with a special surprise - a toilet that doesn’t flush. A very romantic touch indeed that provided the ultimate intimate experience in what is best described as the bathroom equivalent of “Whack a mole”. If you want a more traditional toilet experience the public throne by the pool is always available ... It has flower petals floating in the bowl and best of all your business isn’t left floating around when you’ve finished ... I’m hoping thought that the flower petals were not left overs from the previous guest.||||The two swimming pools at the hotel have green algae covering the tiles creating that authentic natural lagoon look. I’m a little old fashioned though and prefer my pool to be clean. To the hotel's credit, they did decide to clean the pool .... as we were checking out. ||||The hotel offers a free shuttle service to it’s own allegedly “better beach” experience, with the service running every hour with the reliability of a Swiss train, give or take 30 min. Its a bewildering service given the beach they take you too is grotty and classified as dangerous (the sign directly out the front states “mar perigoso”). If you want to pay twice as much for your drinks and food, and risk your body washing up in West Africa then by all means go for a swim but I’d recommend not to waste your time and just walk to Praia dos Golfinhos.||||On the subject of unreliable transport it would be remiss of me to not mention the exceptionally poor transport service organised by the hotel for our return trip to the airport in Natal. Not only did the private driver not turn up on time (no surprise there), this time they didn’t turn up at all. When we asked the hotel manager to find out what was going on we were told that the private driver was only 5 min away. Fifteen minutes later a taxi turned up instead, organised by the private driver because he claims he forgot about our booking. In a stunning display of ignorance and disrespect, the hotel manager did not seem too worried about this opting to downplay the situation because we still had time to make our flight. That’s true but only because we always plan to arrive at the airport with plenty of time in case of such ineptitude - ineptitude that we should not be seeing at hotel costing this much. The hotel manager then proceeded to distance themselves from their transport recommendation stating it is the only option in Praia da Pipa. This is not true - there is still the local taxi service which we promptly organised our own taxi with, rejecting the taxi organised by the private driver who still expected us to pay full private transport rates. Seems like the private driver and the hotel might have a nice little scam running whereby they never intend to provide a private driver and profit from just ordering you a normal cab. Unfortunately for them, this is not our first rodeo so we managed to travel back to Natal in our own nice clean large taxi for 30% cheaper. Karma.||||On a positive note for the hotel, the large villa was nice (except for the toilet), the staff are friendly (the manager is friendly but clearly incompetent), the breakfast good and the dinner very good (the waiter for our dinner was terrific).||||In summary, the hotel is overpriced given the many service and maintenance failures. The high ratings I think reflect a lower standard that Brazilians have grown accustomed too because it's certainly not at the standard of other hotels we have stayed in around the world with the same ratings. We would not...

My stay at Toca da Coruja in Pipa, Natal, Brazil was truly one of the most incredible experiences of my life! This resort is an absolute dream come true—from the breathtaking nature to the outstanding hospitality, everything was beyond perfect.
I apologize for this late thank you—life has been busy, but I haven’t forgotten about you! I just want to express how deeply grateful I am for the amazing experience I had.
The facility itself is stunning! I had an entire house to myself with two beautiful corridors, each with a hammock, perfect for relaxing. The surround sound system, the peaceful ambiance, and the delicious breakfast—everything was just magical. One of the most unforgettable moments was eating outside and having monkeys join me! The sound of the birds, the lush greenery, and the overall atmosphere made it feel like a true retreat for the soul, mind, and body.
The staff was beyond incredible—so kind, always willing to help, and making sure every moment of my stay was perfect. You can literally walk the entire city, and the beaches? Oh my God, absolutely breathtaking! Every single restaurant I visited served outstanding food, and the people in Pipa were incredibly warm and welcoming, always happy to give directions and recommendations.
One of my favorite experiences was renting a four-wheel motorcycle and exploring the entire island, taking in the spectacular views, and capturing some of the most amazing pictures. The drinks, the sunsets, the vibe—everything felt like a dream vacation.
I a thousand percent recommend anyone visiting Pipa to stay at Toca da Coruja. It is a place like no other, and I cannot wait to return!
Thank you so much, Toca da Coruja team—you guys are...
