Who would have believed that in this little dirt road town 3 hours drivefrom Brasilia would be a hidden gem of a restaurant. I have dined at dozens (hundreds??) of Michelin restaurants including at least 6 that are 3over the years. This place is amazing and in my opinion deserves at least 1 star. The owner-chef is world-class and as we got to know him during our dinners it makes sense why as he trained at several of the very best 3 Mich restaurants in Spain as well as "the best restaurant in the world" at one point, (his resume far exceeds these data points). This is not to say that the experience itself is quite up to Michelin 2/3* quality when it comes to the service, setting, and table wear. But I don't feel like that's what they are trying for, just yet. The place is spacious, warm and in some way homely. Some of the food is definitely 3* worthy including the burger (yes, I know - it's a burger, but to my taste it was by far the best burger I have ever had. Nothing I have had in NY (having lived there for 10 years) or anywhere else in the world comes close - it's all about the quality of the meat, the sauce, the cheese, the bun and the balanced ratios of all ingredients) and the onion soup (again, I know how good could it be, but once again it is by far the best onion soup I have ever had - and again I have tried a lot of different onion soups in my time). Not all dishes were this good but nothing was sub par. I ate here three times in four nights. I did not have the prefix dinner but my friends did and also thought it was great. Lastly, the price, when the food is really good I normally don't care much about the price, but it's worth noting that dinner for 3 including drinks was less than $70 USD. Unless you are a foodie I would not drive 3 hours just to come to this restaurant, but if you are coming to this national park (which itself is amazing if you like hiking and waterfalls and an eclectic town), I would stay in this town just to be close to...
