O Peruano — Restaurant in Região Geográfica Imediata de Salvador

We had a pretty bad experience there. The food was fine, despite them being out of about half their menu (all vegetarian dishes, anything with chicken, anything with fries). But our experience was mostly negative do to a series of service-related items. Most concerningly there was a man who about 6 times during our dinner interrupted to mumble at us and linger. We were visibly uncomfortable but he kept returning. The first 3 engagements we thought he was a random person, but then it turned he worked there but appeared under the influence to us. That experience was exacerbated by the absence of our actual server, who other than taking our original order later delivering food, ignored our table for the hour+ time we were there. We ordered a second round of drinks that never came. We ordered the bill, which never came so after a while we went to the front, at which time a different lady in the front took about 10 mins to do other things before figuring out with her server what our bill was. The bill was hand-written and illegible, making it a grand effort for us to check that it was correct (it was not). We left feeling very stressed and agitated and in a daze around how poor that dinner...

first i would give this place 0 stars if it wasn't for the friendliest and most wonderful waiter we've had. I ordered the seafood soup which on the menu said it would have all the different seafood but it had small prawns and I heard one of the workers say they don't know so I know they left out the ingredients. Second, I ordered fried chicken and fries and they literally brought 5 pieces of chicken with 6 fries for 40 reais. I could have had a better meal at Mcdonalds and in the end they even charged me the service charge. I felt like leaving the restaurant half robbed. I will not go...

This is a small casual family owned restaurant that specializes in wonderful Peruvian cuisine such as chaufa (fried rice) dishes, ceviche, seafood specialties and vegetarian options. I had the salmon ceviche and it was delicious. The server/owner was very friendly and accommodating although her English was limited. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating and a casual, relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere with pleasant Peruvian music playing in the background.
