Small, cosy locals bar and restaurant in the district of Santa Teresa. Excellent food, with some supurb traditional Brazilian dishes, (most of which serve two people). The pizzas are amazing - in fact the best we’ve had! Great wine and just the best Caipirinhas. Nice quiet background music, mainly jazz. No English spoken. Out of all our travels, this is one of our most favourite bars.

Great place off the beaten path in Santa Teresa. It faces a small square (Largo das Neves), away from the crowds of Largo dos Guimarães. Very relaxed atmosphere, usually with some jazzy background music. The drinks are nothing remarkable, the usual beers and caipirinhas, but it also offers some wine for the winter nights. The food section is better, try the pizzas or the pastéis, or the eggplant appetizer. I actually live just a couple of minutes from Largo das Neves, and Goya Beira is my place of choice when going for a beer...

Fica em frente a uma pracinha mas é muito seguro. O serviço é acolhedor porém demorado. Fui em uma noite que não estava movimentado. O Caldo de Feijão (r$12) foi um grande destaque, muito bem temperado e bem servido. A Pizza de Calabresa Grande (r$69,50) é ok mas pelo valor não compensa muito. A massa lembra aquelas que são geralmente feitas em supermercado. O Pastel de Berinjela (r$9,80) tem tamanho bom mas nada surpreendente. O banheiro é um grande ponto negativo.
