One of the worst places I have ever visited!
At the beginning, we requested a table for five, and the waiter assured us it was no problem. However, he first seated us at the bar, only for another waiter to rudely tell us to leave. After some time, we finally got a table—crammed into the aisle and meant for only four people. But fine.
The restaurant itself is small, poorly ventilated, and designed to look deliberately run-down—probably for the sake of “style.” The music? I wouldn’t even call it music. It was more like noise, and to make matters worse, they charged 20 R$ per person for this awful experience. It was so loud and unbearable that having a conversation was nearly impossible.
Now, let’s talk about the wines. They serve cheap supermarket wines but mark them up three to four times the original price. If you enjoy overpaying for low-quality products, then by all means, go ahead. The service was equally abysmal. The waiters not only lacked basic customer service skills but were also clueless about the menu. I specifically asked three times about the mushrooms on their pizza—whether they were all natural and if the cogumelo Paris mushrooms were fresh or from a jar. Two different waiters confidently assured me they were fresh. Of course, that turned out to be a lie.
Then came the drinks—45 R$ for a gin with ice and a tiny slice of red orange. It was more ice than gin, an absolute scam. But of course, “who drinks gin in a wine bar,” right?
To top it all off, there were issues with the bill. They attempted to add extra bottles of wine and drinks we didn’t order, so be sure to check your receipt carefully.
This place should be avoided at all costs. And as for those who praise it—either they have no taste or they’re blindly...
Read moreI’m a European Gringo as well, and unlike another review I came across, my experience was overwhelmingly positive. I was initially a bit concerned after reading that review, especially since the reviewer has many positive ones—perhaps this was just an outlier.
Now, onto our experience: The place has a casual yet trendy vibe. A fun little detail—it’s tucked behind a small shop, so from the street, you really have to look for it. Just head to Number 10, walk through the shop, and the fun begins.
The wine selection is quite good. While you won’t find a Chablis 2015, we enjoyed a lovely Douro from Minho, Portugal, followed by a nice Chilean option. The Burrata pizza was outstanding, and on a Tuesday night, the place wasn’t crowded, with very reasonable prices.
To top it all off, the staff was incredibly kind and polite. Overall, a...
Indaguei qual a lógica disso e o gerente simplesmente me falou que eu estava tentando burlar o sistema, super grosseiro.
