My boyfriend and I got a table outside, where we had the most embarrassing experience of all our trips to Salvador.
At the table next to ours, three elderly men were seated, and one of them—a tall, overweight man with gray hair and a foreign accent, though speaking Portuguese—was the most obnoxious. He kept insulting the waiters the entire time, yelling at them, giving aggressive orders, and even using profanities. I initially thought he was just a rude customer, and we decided to leave the place out of discomfort. We called over one of the staff members and explained why we were canceling our order. Then I decided to stand up and come back to the owner complaining about the waiting time because many people were overtaking us. He went to the kitchen and never came back. Anyway, after 1 hour of waiting never got food and we...
Read moreGreat, attentive and friendly waitstaff. We ordered the shrimp Bobo on recommendation from a friend and were not disappointed. It's delicious but be warned (if you are new to Brazilian food) it is very heavy. Cod fish croquettes were great. Fried calamari was good but not a stand out. The food here is low key Bahian style food. Do yourself a favor and sit outside by the boardwalk after the sun sets and enjoy the cool breeze from the bay during your...
