During our recent cruise stop on NCL, my family and I explored the town of Tortola, and stumbled upon Naturally Tasty by Rotiman. OMG! This truly a hidden gem. I can attest that the most memorable experiences often come from organic, spontaneous adventures.

The owner Phillip and his family welcomed us with warmth and kindness, creating a uniquely curated experience that felt more like visiting old friends than dining at a restaurant. I initially stopped by just for a beef patty, but my cousin ordered their baked chicken roti, and both dishes were absolutely delicious—bursting with authentic flavors. The crust was so buttery and fresh.

What truly set this place apart was Phillip’s passion and storytelling. He came out to introduce himself, shared his inspiring journey of how he started cooking as a child and learning how to cook. He even opened his kitchen doors to us and that’s where the magic unlocked. Phillip and his son even set up tents and seating for our family (to keep us out of the heat) and setup a live demo. We had the unique opportunity to witness him making fresh roti skins, curried chicken, and curried beef—an authentic glimpse into his craft that left us all impressed. We felt like we were part of their family. It was the most fun we had on the island—completely unplanned and genuine. This experience was far more enriching than any guided excursion offering and offered a true taste of island life and hospitality.

If you ever find yourself on Tortola, I wholeheartedly recommend running—don’t walk—to Naturally Tasty by Rotiman. Whether for their fresh patties or their incredible rotis, it’s a culinary experience I would never forget. My family and I would like to thank Phillip and his family for their dedication, warmth, and the authentic island atmosphere. They truly embodied the...

AVOID THIS PLACE- Worst experience I’ve ever had at a cafe. The large and super rude woman who (eventually) served us was outside talking to her friends while we waited inside alone in the store for 10 minutes before we could even order- then she served her local friend who was at the back of the line before us even though we’d been waiting there 10 minutes at that point.

The grossly overpriced ($40 for a breakfast sandwich, 2 pastries, and a coffee) food we eventually got were horrible and greasy.

I was starving but I could only take 2 bites of each thing before the grease of the Johnny cake breakfast sandwich and the overwhelming lack of chicken in the patty (it was 95% bread 5% stuffing 0% chicken) I ordered just made me put the food down.

On top of this, the woman working there was so short and nasty with us and obviously full of contempt for tourists so I don’t understand why she would decide to work in a service business right next to a ferry terminal. We tried smiling and making conversation but she was straight up nasty to my girlfriend for no reason even though we had been really patient with her. To whoever owns this place, I would sincerely advise you let this employee go and allow somebody who actually cares about food & service (doesn’t hate foreign people trying to patronize your business) an opportunity to work there.

This is the first negative review I’ve ever written, and it’s for a reason; please do better, if I could give zero...

Excellent roti from terrific folks. We stopped by on a tuesday at 630pm, the kitchen was closed but the Roti Man was still there. When we asked if it was possible to have four rotis to go, he simply said "I am the Roti Man, I will make you roti from scratch if you can wait 30 minutes". We went to the front of the restaurant where we purchased local beers from the owner and went outside and relaxed in the nearby courtyard. We were offered complimentary Johnny cakes, which tied us over- the owners could not have been sweeter to us. As the food was nearing completion, we were invited into the kitchen area to see how it was prepared - masterfully and with pride. The owners are delightful, all smiles, and were happy to share their love and passion for wonderful island food. Our chicken and beef roti were delicious and served along with a wonderful cranberry coleslaw and home made mango chutney. One of the best meals of our trip. Thank you! We are planning on revisiting them because they are across the street from the ferry dock - so on our way off of the island, we may be taking breakfast...
