I have had many good experiences with this Sushi restaurant but after what happened just now I will not be supporting them again. I ordered the salmon/tuna combo and walked there to pick it up. When I got home and opened it up I noticed the albacore Tuna in the roll was a black blue colour, (see photos). Compare it to the Nigiri Tuna which is the typical colour of albacore tuna and you will see a vast difference. I was concerned and called the restaurant hoping they would be able to assure me it was safe to eat and offer some type of reasonable explanation. After a short chat with a pleasant girl who could not offer any explanation I decided to run it back to the restaurant to exchange the tuna roll for one with tuna that was not a blueish colour. I brought my take out box up to the cashier area where a man was standing and proceeded to open the box and show him the tuna. I was very polite and very respectful, I just wanted to show them what I was talking about. This man started to argue with me, telling me it was fine and pointing to the back of his neck, saying it was from a different part of the fish. He kept saying its the same. Clearly it is not the same as the tuna on the nigiri. My guess is they are cutting the bloodline off the fillet and using it in the Tuna combo's. He was not being very helpful or receptive at all and finally I pointed to the Nigiri and asked him, "could I get a Tuna roll with Tuna that colour int it?" He replied " NO". I was completely taken by surprise and just stood there stunned for a second. I was the only customer in the room and all of the 6 or 7 staff including the Chefs were watching and listening. I finally spoke and said "you are joking right?" Unfortunately he wasn't joking. I then opened the box again to point out the huge difference in the 2 cuts and he started laughing at me. By now I was pretty annoyed and asked him "why are you laughing?" 'Is this funny to you?" I then asked him if he was the owner and he replied YES! I then asked him why he was being so disrespectful and rude to me the customer when I have been nothing but respectful to him while trying to support his business. At that point he kind of changed his tune and begrudgingly gave me a new tuna roll. He half heartedly apologized as he threw it down on top of my box. At that point I just left quietly, a very unhappy customer who felt insulted and ridiculed while trying to support local small...

We decided to try a new restaurant and came here based on the 4+star reviews. This was the most disappointing experience I have had in years. In fact so disappointed in it that this might just be the first review I have taken the time to write. I will spare a long diatribe and just highlight the lowlights. The waitress had supreme low energy levels and I m not joking when I say that if she fell asleep on the way to deliver our food I m not sure I would have been surprised in the least. The food was really not great, the rice was dry, the gyoza was overcooked and the nigiri ( 5 pieces ) were old and rubbery. Even the ginger felt like it was the old leftovers from other meals. The irony or silver lining is that it was probably the best tempura I have ever had. Finally, when the waitress came and asked how our lunch was , I told the truth that I was very disappointed in our experience. She sleepily told me she was sorry ( on autopilot ) and came back with the full amount bill. She said she couldnt do anything because the owner wasn't present. Super disappointed in this first and likely only visit... I saw a " looking for pt/ft server " on the door as we walked out - hoping she gets some much needed help. I do not write this to make light of or single out the staff as I don't know what she might be going through. I do however know that with prices going up and portions getting smaller, it's tough to bring out a family of 4 as it is. So when the service is lacking and the food is awful and no sh**s are given, it's such a kick...

Not sure what happened, but the quality of food has drastically changed and significantly WORSENED in the last year or so. When ordering any raw salmon, it smells “fishy” and disgusting… like it’s sat out too long. Much smaller portions and the cost keeps going up. STOP TRYING TO CUT COSTS when it impacts your customers!! You will lose so much business.

But even more upsetting is the certain server (possible owner or daughter?) that deals with the front end. She has TERRIBLE, APPALLING customer service. The WORST I’ve seen in the restaurant industry in a long time. She is condescending and unwilling to accept when she makes a mistake. She speaks to coworkers negatively about customers. Blames customers when SHE makes ordering mistakes, and is completely unaccommodating or apologetic. She is unkind and RUDE! She has no interest in keeping good business and long term relationships with customers. She has ZERO sense of what it means to run a successful business or make people feel welcome. Don’t ask for anything extra or what would be expected at ANY restaurant. It’s a battle.

This used to be our favourite sushi restaurant when visiting friends nearby, but we will certainly never return. We gave them 3 opportunities to see if it was just an “off day”… but it is their new and horrible approach to service and food. You will lose so many customers with that unapproachable garbage attitude. That lady needs to go! What a poor excuse for a...

It was fabulous! A little bit more than I'm used to paying but it was totally worth it. I enjoyed every last bite and next time I'm going to order a few more items. You can always take home what you don't eat. BTW it's a very cozy and beautiful restaurant. Nice environment to relax in. Lots of items on their menu to choose from. Very nice staff too.

Good price, good location, friendly staff and really nice owner. Located near ARC. Combination Japanese food and Korean food. They have kid tray for lunch and dinner and my kids always enjoy with taste and variety of items.
