I was attracted to this place because it was featured in a few food rags and had elk burgers. Something new to try that is truly Albertan. A great atmosphere and the waitress was excellent. I got a nice cold pitcher of water, however I question the motivation of this type of offer, because it portrays a sense of not wanting to visit the table to refill a drink and check on the diner. Despite that, the waitress was great at visiting my table on a regular basis and asking how I was doing. The water tasted like it was out of the tap, which is ok, but my preference is filtered. The menu was very elaborate with what appears to be a great selection of different meats and sides for your burger. I chose elk with truffle mushroom sauce and onion rings. I like to see how the rings hold with the batter, and they were great, hot, crispy and juicy inside. The spicy mayo dip was good but appeared that it hasn't been freshly dispensed and was somewhat dried out on top, perhaps pre- dispensed into the cup and left out uncovered, was still great paired with the rings. The food took a long time to arrive, and there wasn't that many diners, so not sure why. The elk burger and sauce had a very nice flavour! However the build on the burger was rather disappointing. The burger was oddly small and didn't fill the bun. It lacked any sort of crunchiness or juice that you might get from a pickle or a tomato or fresh onion strips and only had a single piece of wilted lettuce that was like rubber. The bun was soft and good. Overall a good experience that lacked any sort of excitement.

Highly recommend! I went with my friend who is celiac. We loved that almost everything on the menu was GF. We both got sandwiches and we’re super happy with what we ordered. I got the club sandwich and I’d come back for this dish alone. The rosemary chicken salad was such a unique touch - it was amazing. I got the chipotle Caesar salad on the side and this was also amazing. The service was great! It’s a small restaurant and they make you feel at home. After paying our bills we made sure there wasn’t a wait for tables and stayed to chat. The waitress even filled our coffee cups even after paying and didn’t make us feel rushed. We’ll definitely come back! Edit: We returned 2 years later and enjoyed our experience. The only complaint I have is the portion sizes. For the price I expected more food. It was tasty but I wasn’t quite full after finishing the meal.

Update: Went for brunch today. I had the fried chicken breakfast poutine. It was delicious with a subtle spice to it. My wife had the cheesecake french toast. It was soft and not as sweet as I thought it would be... Which is a good thing. The strawberry compote was very flavorful. The cheesecake filling was smooth and had a very pleasant flavour. This remains one of my favorite places to eat at in Airdrie. Original: This a small diner which serves breakfast as well as burgers and sandwiches. The food is always great and the service is always quick. Today two of us ordered one burger and fries to share. The staff outdid themselves by cutting the burger in half and splitting the meal between two plates. There are limited tables available and it stays relatively busy.

So disappointing! I brought my grandson for a special lunch for his birthday. His poutine he said was good but my meal of the lettuce tacos was very very disappointing. You would expect a piece of lettuce to be able to pick up and eat the “taco” but not in this case, I actually had to eat with a fork. The 2 pieces of lettuce were so tiny and wilted it was unbelievable (i typically would have said something but knew my grandson would have been embarrassed 😞) but honestly I should not even have to complain when it’s so ridiculous to actually serve this and then charge $16! Wow a little steep for what you get!!! The bbq chicken on the taco tasted good but the whole experience of looking forward to a delicious lettuce taco was lost. The lettuce was seriously so wilted I can’t believe it was even used in any dish! I use to love this place but it’s the third bad experience since moving to Airdrie 6 months ago. I would actually make a special stop to Abe’s Diner when I lived in Calgary as the food and service was always top notch! So disappointing for what is very overpriced (I might not have minded the high price if the dish had actually been quality but the TINY WILTED lettuce was unreasonable! Wish I had taken a photo as I often do but was more focused on enjoying my time with my grandson on his special day! We both had milkshakes which certainly “looked” good but mine was watery, ultra sweet with a lot of whip cream and little milkshake, for $6.50 for a small sized milkshake, it too was disappointing and overpriced. Doubt I will be returning as the great choices of food places I have discovered in Airdrie are now...

First, the staff and customer service was AMAZING! Almost everyone working at some point either said hello or asked how our food was and they were very prompt with getting everything out in a quick but respectful time (we ordered apps). The young gentleman who was our waiter, sorry I didn’t catch your name but I don’t think you mentioned it, you were great!

The food was also very good. I got the chicken clubhouse and the French onion soup. It was a HUGE, so tasty and I had to take 1/2 home with me. The soup was good but it was more of a beef taste rather than onion, I’m not complaining cause it was still a great flavour but just not typical French onion. My other half had the basic original burger with fries and gravy. He thought it tasted great but he does wish the beef patty was a bit bigger to fit the the bun or slightly thicker so the bun ratio matches. The fries were GREAT!! A slight crisp on the outside and a soft inside. The gravy was good but needs a little something else, I can’t quite put my finger on it but perhaps a bit more seasoning. Lastly, we had the bacon wrapped mozzarella sticks as an appy and wow they were great!! But of all the things I ate that completely WOW me was the marinara sauce that came with the mozzarella sticks.... seriously you should consider adding pasta dishes to you menu!!! Or sell it out in bottles!

Over all I would go again. The cost was out of “fast food” relation so it will be hard to be a “regular customer” but it’s worth it when you want a fast “restaurant” quaility food.

Thanks for the great food...
