My husband and I went to state Maine today for dinner and I sent my meal back because I had found hair in my mashed potatoes And my husband's steak was undercooked the first that they'd taken the meal back we'd gotten it back and his was overcooked mine was undercooked. The lady I had had I asked for a manager and she had said oh well me and the guy behind the bar are the managers. She had taken back the meal and got us a new one then when we got back the new 1 it was overcooked well done and we had ordered medium rare And on top of that that she had run back to the back of the kitchen so quiclee with all the young kids working there I don't know if I could ever trust eating the second meal they sent out Then we asked for whoever was higher than our waitress who was saying she was a manager she ran to the bartender some young 23 year old guy blonde hair tattoo's all over his arms and I believe on to his neck as well. He came storming out from behind the bar saying okay well what's the problem? My husband had Said my wife had hair in her food secondly mine was Undercooked and I mean rare when it was supposed to be medium rare. Second time it came out it was hard to trust it because the waitress had ran to the back so quick that I don't know if I could trust that it wouldn't be spit on or something else. My husband was also talking to him about the service of the other employees and how it wasnt Good service at all because they were hiding out in the kitchen the entire time. Then he said Listen sir I've been doing this for many years and my husband said It can't be too long because you're maybe 25 and he said no I'm 23 sir. Then my husband said exactly not too long you can't learn the servants industry in 4 or 5 years then we got up from the table and he said leave you're not welcome here then pushed my husband's neck and shoulder where he has had C spine surgery and shoulder surgery and a muscle replacement surgery. On top of the fact that he shoved him in the shoulder and by his neck he's in so much pain tonight that we're thinking about going to the hospital
Honestly I just wish a manager that was able to handle things better was there because those kids aren't managers they need to get some actual training before they sink this restaurant The owner should take these people into consideration when seeing who still should have a job because they shouldnt
Overall what I'm saying is don't come here. Take your money somewhere else because you're not gonna be respected hedear the young staff makes it very hard to speak to them for them to get your drinks on time for them to even be on the floor at all they hide out in the backseat entire time I maybe saw my waitress 3 times that's when she brought me my drink then brought me my food took back the food and that was really the last time I saw her. It's not even worth coming in here you should go spend your money at maybe milestone your Mr. Mike's...

It's with a heavy heart that I pen this review for State & Main in Airdrie, following an underwhelming experience that I find deserving of two stars only ββ. It was last Saturday that my friend and I decided to treat ourselves to their famed fresh dip sandwiches, and alas, our excitement turned to disappointment rather quickly.
First impressions are crucial, and State & Main does well in this regard. The restaurant looks appealing from the outside, welcoming guests with its clean, modern design π’. The interior followed suit, and the cleanliness even extended to the toilets, which is always an appreciated detail. However, an eatery's real litmus test lies in its culinary prowess, and this is where our experience began to falter.
We both opted for the fresh dip sandwiches; mine came with a side of poutine, and my friend's had fries. The food presentation was up to the mark, but the moment we took our first bites, we realized that something was amiss. The sandwiches were bland, lacking any semblance of taste or seasoning π₯ͺ. The meat fell short on the flavor quotient and needed more salt, a surprising and rather disappointing oversight for a restaurant of this stature.
The dip sauce that accompanied our sandwiches was simply oily, not offering the rich, savory taste one expects. The poutine, too, was underwhelming and the fries my friend got were just about average. Overall, the food experience was far from satisfying, leaving us yearning for flavors that unfortunately didn't show up on our plates π½.
Service-wise, our experience was mixed. We spent an uncomfortable five minutes at the entrance before someone greeted us, an unflattering start to our visit. Our waiter did try to make up for it and was keen on making our evening better. However, his attire seemed out of place and not as appealing as we would have expected in such a setting πββοΈ. It's a minor detail, but it's these little things that contribute to a holistic dining experience.
The atmosphere at State & Main, unfortunately, didn't help to salvage our evening. There was a certain vibe missing, a warmth or cheerfulness that one associates with a dining night out. This lack of ambiance was noticeable and dampened our spirits.
In conclusion, our experience at State & Main in Airdrie was a letdown, to say the least. The well-kept and clean ambiance could not compensate for the lackluster food and missing atmosphere. It's with hope that I pen these words, as constructive criticism can often lead to betterment. Until then, our search for the perfect dip sandwich...

The last two times we had dined here our steaks were overcooked and it was fixed the first time no issues. Second time again delt with beautiful by the staff. I am incredibly understanding that the kitchen can have mistakes and always give my severs such grace when dealing with a mix up like this. So again had no hesitation to dine here again for the third time I had mentioned to our server before ordering that we had our steaks overcooked the last two times and maybe we should order it rare so we get some pink this time without having to wait on a recook. I was pleasently surprise when they both came out beautifully cooked but absolutely no seasoning on the steak....... I ask my server to take it back and she takes my plate comes back with a tablespoon of steak spice covering my steak.... I tried a few bites of my side which was also quite disappointing then waited for my server to come back so I could explain adding seasoning to my already cooked steak didn't exactly sit right with me. After explaining I was unable to eat the steak the manager came to speak with me where I kindly explained we have been coming here often for months and have only had this issue with food the last few times and how disappointing it's been to have my favorite place slowly become a place I cannot even walk out of satisfied anymore. She was incredibly unprofessional and rude making comments like "it was seasoned" and arguing with me that the quality of the food was questionable. After I flat out refused to pay for something I am unable to eat she then takes a good 20+ minutes making the bill up for our server to bring over...... Charging me for the side I ate two bites out of very petty very sad and very unprofessional. I feel sorry for your staff that has been incredible over the past few months that now has to continue to deal with your lack of professionalism and dedication to your business that is very clearly...
