I moved to Airdrie as a child, in 1983. Paul's was always a family favourite and a fun night out; I've been eating your pizza since I was a little girl. Now that I'm an adult I know how important it is, now more than ever, to support small family-owned businesses in our city. My ability to support small business is also finite, I have to pick and choose. If I can offer some constructive input, the businesses I choose to support demonstrate community values similar to my own, and their voice, whether it be on social media or when I'm there in person is welcoming, open and kind.
While I think you make the best pizza in town, your voice and how you present your business is dismissive, divisive and somewhat arrogant. I wonder how many people love your pizza but choose not to support you because of your polarizing social media presence? What if you could double your business in Airdrie by simply evolving your voice to be full of dignity, grace and kindness? It's wonderful that you have community minded initiatives but those come with a deep responsibility to do some research about the causes you're supporting. The internet and your community won't let you get away with things that are not socially responsible. I offer this not as criticism but as food for thought, I currently do not support your business... but I would love to in the future. It's yours...
Read moreI just visited this place for the first time today with my significant other, and because of the outstanding reviews that it has, I expected a lot more than I got as a customer. Upon arriving, no one greeted us for over 15 minutes while seeing us waiting patiently at the hostess' stand. After finally being seated, we were rudely greeted by our waitress around 10 more minutes later, who never welcomed us or even introduced herself. She took our orders and just left, while seeming very rushed. This is of course understandable if a restaurant is super busy and understaffed however there did not seem to be anymore than maybe 20 people total within the whole establishment. When we received our appetizers, a women who was not our waitress slammed our food down and then walked away. While I took the first bite of our appetizer, I immediately burnt the inside of my bottom lip, and was never told how hot the dish actually was. I do take some responsibility for this, however, I am used to at least a warning if the dish is that hot. The rest of the dining experience was very much mediocre and we saw our regular waitress maybe one more time before paying the bill. The only reason that I am giving two stars is because of the cleanliness of the restaurant as a whole and the main courses being "okay" for what you get. I will not be returning...
Read moreTerrible!! Just plain terrible! when we first started going to Paul's, we were very satisfied. Always delivery. Now, a few years later of a few wrong orders, and then getting to the point of most every time there would be issues with the order. We did not always call back to let them know, but after having 4 deliveries and each time it was the same problem and we let them know each time, they did offer up a credit, which is what any restaurant would and should do, but the last time, we asked to speak to the manager and explained the issues, No Olives on the Pizza, allergies to them and it was written on the order bill also. She proceeded to insult us by telling us that we were mistaken and that there could not be any olives, pretty much accusing us of lying. If this "lady" was the manager and she worked for me I would definitely reign her in and get her under control. Very disappointed and will not support this business ever again and will make sure that our experience is shared with others. I think that if she is going to stand behind the plaque on the wall that says they were voted best restaurant in Airdrie, then you should live up to what that is implying....be the best at giving people what they want, not your own opinion! VERY...
