CHICK•N•JOY — Restaurant in Ajax

It’s my first time trying this place & i’m super disappointed. I spent just under $50 for an 8pc, med fries, 10pc dinosaur shaped nuggets, small onion ring & 2 pops. Chicken: skin was good, meat was bland and a little on the drier side. Fries are solid if you ask for them more well done. The onion rings are solid: big & crispy. The nuggets were cute but not worth $9-something. The gravy is super off, not even worth trying just trust me on that one. All in all = no need to waste money here with the current management. My partner said it was good a few years back. I had to make rice and my own homemade sauce to somewhat enjoy this meal. We use to have a CHICK•N•JOY location in Whitby area but they're closed almost a decade ago. After 10 years I decided to pay a visit in this location. We got the chicken and fries lunch special as well as their poutine lunch combo. When I took the first bite of that chicken and poutine, all of the nostalgia came back to me. The creaminess and unami of that gravy, the crispiness and saltiness from the chicken, and sweetness and savoriness of the fries brought so much joy to me. I was borderline in tears. Their quality has not changed since the last time I've been here. All of the servers there were really nice and friendly. If you haven't been here, I would highly recommend it. Hopefully they'll continue to stay in business and upkeep their quality for more decades to come! Highly highly recommend and will come back....

Terrible service. I went in and placed an order for dark meat. I was originally told they were out of dark meat. I said okay I’ll take the white meat instead. After paying the cashier comes back and says that they DO have dark meat and would be able to provide me my original request…great right?!...after waiting 15mins (which is the time it takes to make more chicken) he comes back again and tells me that they DO NOT have dark meat available! But the most irritating part is after the last time he told me there was no dark meat anther customer came in and placed an order for dark meat!
