Atmosphere: 1st time customer--- upon walking in, it felt like the typical hole-in-the-wall spot. It was nice to see some photos of T&T on the walls, but the setting lacked ambiance. Not even some soca music to keep us entertained as we dined in. There was also a big fly that greeted us upon entry 😩, which I brought to the cashier's attention. She was unbothered by it, and I guess it eventually disappeared to the back area of the restaurant.
Service: The cashier/server seems to lack understanding of service with a smile and knowledge of items. We had to ask her too many times what the cost of the Sunday special was--- this info NEEDS to be better advertised on the board. Even the cashier seemed confused by that lack of written info. She is def not Trini and is undertrained. It was eventually evident by how she dressed my aloo pie. As a matter of fact, it made me cringe that she went from the cash till to a cooler box on the side to get my aloo pie. Why isn't this housed in a kitchen, in warmers, or handled by kitchen staff?
Food: That BBQ chicken combo was pretty good! Rice was full of favor, a bit much salt tho but overall, a good combo, just pricey (roughly $23 after tax). The chicken was tender, and the sauce was tasty. The potato salad had egg in it (risky), but it paired well with the flavors of the rice. At least it wasn't a long wait for food. Unfortunately, my aloo pie was barely lukewarm and lacked sauces. The filling was a bit salty but had good texture.
Overall, I would try their food again but won't...
Read moreI spent $30.77 and had to wait 20 minutes (when there were no people ahead of me and no other orders being done) for one chicken curry and dahlpouri and three doubles. I watch this person serving me walk back and forth with singular items, putting them down in places and then coming back to it to handle it a second and third time. All of these items are pre-cooked and require very little assembly. I took the items home and was very disappointed. The doubles are now a lot smaller than they used to be, and very small and comparison to the competitors. Out of everything that I ate only the channa inside the doubles had flavor.
Your dalhpouri is tough, your seasonings in the curry need to be cooked out a lot more. The dough you guys use for your bara for the doubles is rubbery.
I've been coming here for years and I'm surprised at the absolute decline of quality. I know things have inflated in cost, but I have a hard time understanding how three doubles and one curry and roti equals to almost $31.
Furthermore, the area where people order and wait for their food is dirty and the seating is completely chipped. The place looks like a dump.
I'm going to have to stop...
Read moreI was the only patron in the place and I only ordered 3 doubles. Another patron came in to pick up their “pick-up” order. Which was a much larger order 8 doubles plus which was not ready for pick up….another patron came and ordered a chicken roti plus 2 doubles. The young girls behind the counter proceeded to fill the “pick-up” order and the other order after!!! Leaving me the last patron there to receive my order. When questioned the young girl told me “I told my other staff that I’m doing the doubles” where I replied “She made 2 doubles for that order!” She apologized for the wait to which I replied “It’s not the wait, you served ppl that ordered after me.” I’ve been coming to T&T for more than 10yrs. Not anymore!!!! Terrible customer service and explanation for it....
