I went here because of the 4.8 stars they have. If you’ve never been there before it best to order ahead. They do make the food to order so if you don’t order ahead you will have to wait. This is a PLUS in my opinion. We didn’t know about ordering ahead so we had to wait about 20 mins. When we entered the place is small, no room to eat-in. The menu was slightly intimidating at first but the worker quickly came out and asked if it was our first time here and then explained how its three restaurants in one. You have Mona’s Roti, Crazy Greek and the third is a fusion of Greek and Trinidadian. So we ordered one dish from each restaurant, why not right!! I would have given food a 3.5 instead of 4 but no option for that. Greek Souvlaki chicken dinner with lemon Greek fries; 8oz curry goat; chicken roti with chick peas; Buss Up wrap - curry chicken and Greek souvlaki chicken in a roti. The souvlaki dinner was a decent in size but the rice was a tad salty for our liking. The curry goat was good. Meat was tender and taste was good. The Buss Up was delicious - a score in my opinion and I was sceptical at first. It is MESSY though so be prepared. lol lol. I did ask for regular spice so either they forgot to include or the spice is not spicy enough for me. The curry chicken was very tasty but very dry, once again we asked for mild spice and the same note as I mentioned before with the Buss Up happened here. Parking is simple enough, did not have trouble finding any. We were told we could wait in our car and they would bring food out in 17 mins. It was 17 mins to the dot when they brought...
Read moreI wish I could remember the womans name who served me today. She was amazing. If she isnt the one running the place, she should be. She was so kind, patient, friendly and sweet. She spent the time to explain the menu, and actually introduced herself to me when she asked for my name for the order. I am a manager at a chain retail business and will be using my interaction with her to guide my team to provide that same customer service going forward.
Aside from the pleasantries, the food was amazing. I have had crazy greek a couple times before, as greek food is my favourite. I have also tried most of the other greek places around durham. It is usually great, but this time everything was perfect. The fries were crispy on the outside and just melted on the inside. Meat and everything else was great. This is an honest review, Im not getting sponsored. Please go to this place. It may not be as "shiny" and inviting on the outside compared to others but the food and service more than...
Read moreNot sure if there is new ownership with the name change or if they’ve adjusted their portion sizes, but I Ordered the chicken pita with a cucumber village salad. The pita filling (fries, tomato, chicken, etc) was significantly less than when it was the Freak N Greek (save and except the chicken skewer). The skewer was not completely removed from the chicken so I ended up biting down on a wooden skewer.
I had placed an order on the website and when I arrived, I gave my name. The employee proceeded to hand me a bag with my name on it and just a salad. I asked if the Chicken pita was in the bag, he said yes. So I felt the weight of the bag and it was not in there. Then I received my drink in a totally separate bag, then the employee had to ask about my pita which they said still needed to be made.
In the end, they kindly brought the pita out to my car.
I will be back because this is the first not so great experience I’ve had here. Just hope it’s not a sign of...
