Pesteh Bakery — Restaurant in Ajax

This post is long overdue, but after another amazing experience, I wanted to highlight Pesteh Bakery as a hidden gem in Ajax.

I randomly came across Pesteh while searching for diabetic-friendly cakes for my parents. My mom makes amazing cakes herself, but has never been able to enjoy them since she's diabetic.

Mary (the owner of Pesteh) uses diabetic-friendly sugar substitutes for her cakes and they are delicious! I highly recommend the sugar-free chocolate velvet and pistachio cakes. She makes regular cakes too, of course, but this is a great gift for the diabetics (or health-conscious loved ones) in your life!

The prices of sugar-free cakes are a little higher than regular cakes, but I find them very reasonable especially considering the cost of the sugar substitutes and the health benefits. I look forward to the day where healthy ingredients cost less than unhealthy ingredients!

100% recommend and absolute gem baker of Pickering-Ajax. Definitely coming back for all future bakery needs.

Cake Design: Amazing ideas with wide variety of experience. The short menu of photos on her socials doesn’t do any justice to her skill.

Communication and Business Approach: Always available, very clear and sticks to any agreed upon timelines. Mary was very flexible and provided a ton of consultation to help design a cake That worked for our taste palette, design and budget.

Flavors: Loved everything we got. Strawberry, pineapple, pistachio, Saffron.

First time we met, Mary even got some cake samples as a tasting menu.

A month or so back someone posted about Pesteh Bakery stating there were zero posts about them in this facebook Durham Region Eats group. I happened to be starting my hunt for a cake/baker in this group so I kept them in mind and so glad I did! They are a family owned bakery based in Ajax and they make beautiful and delicious cakes. I ordered their signature pistachio cake and they were very accommodating to my requests for my mom’s 75th birthday. They delivered it since I’m also in Ajax and it was absolutely stunning!!
