Altitude restaurant offered breathtaking views of the glacier and mountains. The scenic beauty surrounding the place was truly awe-inspiring, and I must admit, it was the highlight of our visit. However, the overall experience fell short of our expectations.
One aspect that stood out immediately was the unusual payment system. We were required to pay upfront before even getting a chance to sit down and enjoy our meal. This process felt impersonal and somewhat inconvenient, as we had to make choices and payments before seeing what was actually available on the buffet line.
Despite the stunning views, the restaurant was not busy at all. We were the only ones in there. It seemed like most visitors preferred heading to the cafe. If you like the privacy I would recommend going here. But it did cost $43 per adult and $21 per child.
On the positive side, I must commend the restaurant's cleanliness. The staff did an excellent job of keeping the place tidy and presentable.
Nonetheless, the main reason for visiting a buffet restaurant is, undoubtedly, the food. Regrettably, this is where the experience took a downturn. There was a great selection but unfortunately majority of the dishes were laking flavour. The food for me was not that good. Yes it was all you can eat but I could tell it was not the best quality.
In conclusion, while the restaurant boasted a beautiful view of the glacier and mountains, the overall dining experience was underwhelming. If the establishment can focus on improving the quality and variety of their buffet offerings, it has the potential to become a fantastic dining...
Read moreThis place needs cats! There are mice running around under the buffet stations. The staff initially ignored us and tried to pretend like they didn't see anything. Then our whole family of 15 saw two mice running around multiple times. The first waiter came and said he doesn't know anything about it. He's only being there 14 days. Our own waitress Said she didn't know anything about the mice. However, later we heard the other staff talking to each other and were calling the mice by names that they've given them. That sounds like the mice have been here for a while. Then another waiter came and said that they have difficulty getting rid of the mice because they have to use humane methods. However, we looked up online under Canada and they are allowed to use electric mice catching kits. Apparently they told us they know they've been coming through the emergency exit door. So if you do come to this restaurant just make sure I do not stay So if you do come to this restaurant just make sure you do not sit anywhere close to the...
Read moreBreathtaking panoramic views of the Athabasca Glacier, amazing surroundings and a huge patio with lots of seating available (which is good, considering how many people go there). That being said, if you are going to stop here, pack a lunch. With such a gorgeous location, you would expect nice food, but no. We ordered two burgers at what can only be described as a school cafeteria. We paid $65 for two burgers (no fries) and two beers, and they were without a doubt the cheapest, blandest, thinnest burgers we’ve ever had. Each (obviously frozen) patty was topped with a leaf of lettuce, a slice of tomato (almost as thick as the patty itself), and the tiniest slice of onion. We had a good time laughing about our ridiculous burgers, as we sat in the sun and took in the view, but if this restaurant was anywhere else, it wouldn’t get any business at all. The only reason a person would eat here is because there is literally nowhere else around. So, yes, next time we will pack some sandwiches and enjoy...
