The Chalet is a cafeteria-style, self-service food and beverage option at the Columbia Icefields Adventure. Its offerings are limited - soups (warm, not hot), beef chilli, make-your-own beef burgers $19 (tasty!), chicken burgers $19, vegan burgers $19, chilli fries $15, chicken fingers (3) and fries $17, butter chicken & rice $19, vegan Thai curry & rice $17, etc., and glasses of wine $11. The servings are small. So one item would not be enough for many visitors. You wouldn’t go for the food, but to enjoy the view and to pause and rest between attractions. It is astonishing how many people can be packed into a three-story building. If heading to Jasper, I recommend Sunwapta Fall Rocky Mountain Lodge restaurant. Sit by the open fire place - better food and service.

Chalet is a cozy enough spot to grab a quick bite before hopping on an Ice Explorer, but don’t expect anything beyond pure convenience. I had the chicken fingers and fries, which were, in the most generous terms, serviceable. Think theme park cafeteria circa 2006—edible, but no one’s writing home about it. The pizza, I’m told, was actually better… though “better” is doing some heavy lifting there. On the plus side, it’s warm, it’s indoors, and you can sit down and regroup before braving the glacier. Just don’t walk in expecting gourmet—it’s fuel, not flavor.

Worried with the reviews but was quite fair - had a beef burger / chicken fingers with fries and was nice. They asked us if we would like to add lettuce and tomatoes for the burger and was okay, and chicken fingers seemed to be a popular menu here - was nice. Considering the location, the price was understandable - maybe the only burger station around here. The other restaurant's lunch buffet costs 47 dollars per each, so it would be a better choice to have a simple lunch here.

If you’ve ever wondered what regret tastes like, this place serves it on a plate—at a luxury price. The food was so bad I wasn’t sure if I should eat it or call a health inspector. Honestly, microwaving frozen dinners at home would’ve been a five-star improvement. The vegan burger tastes like paper and the table was sticky. The only good thing was the view or this place would be a 0.1 star rating.

Save your money and your stomach—don’t come here unless you enjoy paying top dollar for...
